After months of waiting, I finally got the deal I was looking for and ordered an '09 G37 Sedan. I went with Blue Slate ext. / Graphite int., Premium, Sport, Nav, and a few extras. The car will be built to order, so it probably won't be in the driveway for a few more months. I look forward to officially joining the ranks very soon.

Wow. That's almost exactly the same as I want. I couldn't find the Blue Slate with a black interior with a manual, so I either have to order or take a different color. What is it going to cost you versus MSRP?

Babu-

Yes, I had a similar issue. There were only 8 cars in the nation matching my options request exactly, and it would have cost a premium (almost $500) to have one shipped in from another state. I've waited this long, so I figured I'd have one built and delivered with essentially no miles on it.

I highly recommend going to edmunds.com and building your G on their site. The website quotes MSRP (sticker) and invoice (what the dealer actually pays) for the base car itself and for all the available options. That way you know what the dealer's rock-bottom will be for the car, and you can gauge how well you are doing in negotiations. You can also see available incentives for the car you are researching, so I knew the dealers will get a $2000 dealer cash incentive for all G37 sedan sales through 3/31/09 (and I made sure that $2000 ended up staying in my pocket). FYI, infiniti is also offering 1.9% financing for 36 months on the G37, but the financing incentive cannot be combined with the dealer cash.

I ended up well under $40,000 for the options listed, cash out the door (including tax, title, license). Good luck with your purchase.

Thanks. I've seen edmunds. It was pretty close. Two dealers offered me about 3000 off of MSRP on a car that listed for about 40K. Stilll thinking about it.

Congrats on the order! I bought a silver/black G37S almost a month ago with what sounds like the same options. Nice car...I'm still getting used to it after driving the old Maxima 12 years - quite a change. I got a nice corporate discount which placed the car at dealer invoice, plus the $2000 manufacturer incentive, so ended up with a good (although still not cheap) deal. They told me that it was good that I bought mine when I did since Infiniti was shutting down production for 2-3 months to help bleed off some of the inventory. Hope yours comes sooner than later.

Funny, I've been driving a 1995 Maxima for the last 8 or so years. I've got 165,000 on the Maximus, so I figured it is about time to move on...

Ha! I was going to get rid of the ole Maxima, but decided to keep it for a while...good for hauling stuff due to the larger trunk, and still looks great. Mine actually looks better than many cars that are 3-4 years old.

Oh...one word of advice...you may want to go for an extended test drive with the S model before buying and make sure you hit some rough roads. Mine is much stiffer than I ever expected based on the test drive. I had a fairly long test drive, but it was on mostly good roads. The S's ride is pretty stiff, and it can beat you up compared to your old Maxima. I really like the S's handling and being so well planted, but the stiff suspension can bounce you around a lot more than what you may be used to with the Maxima.

With the current Manufacturer to Dealer Marketing support of $2000, shouldn't I be expecting to be able to purchase a new 2009 G37x under invoice? Or would such an expectation be unrealistic?

psicho, was your vehicle price below invoice (i.e., before fees, taxes, etc.)

At the end of Feb, I purchased a 09 G37 Sedan w/ sport, nav, prem and areo kit for $2k under dealer invoice. MSRP was $42.6 and I was at $36.9K before tax and lic

Great deal, essentially what I paid for similar options. I just checked edmunds again and invoice for my setup is $38,288, so I did in fact pay substantially less than invoice, as my deal was cash OTD. Backing out $2,600 for TTL from my negotiated price puts me close to the deal you arranged.
