Well, I finally made up my mind and ordered the Y-pipe and high flow cat. Also wired in a toggle switch for the trannys drop resistor. I expected it to be more aggressive the way y'all described it. None the less, it makes for a much crisper shift. Hopefully the pipes will be here by Friday and installed on Saturday. I'll also take pics and do a write up on how it's done!

Good deal.

I know the time I disconnected the transmission switch, it was shifting hard as hell.

Noah, if you plan on doing a good bit of racing with the drop resistor disconnected, you may consider adding a trans cooler sooner than later.

Christmas is a good holiday for car parts, VB mod and transmission cooler FTW! Would have done it now, but the rainy season (8 months) is about 4-5 weeks away so no racing until June. maybe a few decent days, but mostly rain. Mine doesn't shift too hard, a lot harder, but not as bad as I expected.

Was going to go to Lakewood transmission. Shop about 35 miles away that does, well... transmissions. I will look into Maximum tuning as soon as I log out of NICO.

hey noah, looking forward to that new write-up. i did a transmission cooler install on my '99. i went with the hayden 404 model. its the largest model that will fit and hayden is a good manufacturer. its a pretty easy install, i will look around and see if i can find my how-to, if you want it. i mounted mine in front of the air condenser and behind the grill, that way the incoming air will act as another aid in help to lower the temp. kinda like a FMIC, only not, lol!!

ah hah...here it is!! hope this helps ya out!! like i said, its pretty straight-forward and you seem to be pretty mechanically inclined so you shouldnt have any trouble. i think when i did it, it took about 2.5 hrs but then again i wasnt too sure of what i was doing. if i was to replace it and install another one, i think it should only take 45 min - 1 hr at most.

Wish I could, but I'm 2200 miles away by air, 2733miles by car. Y'all need to take some pics and post a NOPI pics thread for all of us who can't go. Have fun guys!
