Don't wanna rain on your parade, but I can't stand this 'style'. Too each their own though. In the end, as long as you like it that's all that matters.

i'd hate to be other "basher" but i too have never been a fan of all black wheels..they've always made me think of wheels that are dirty and haven't been cleaned lol..black rims with some chrome or chrome accents i am a fan though...

despite my personal feelings, i do think you did a good job getting them black, so for that i commend you

I agree, I feel like it looks like a police car now with the all black look. But if you like it, that's all that matters.

lol. Sorry bro. We're all family here...we don't mean our posts in a bad way.

I think our car is elegant and clean. I think all black makes it look...cheesy. Maybe gunmetal would have been a better choice...something like this:

If my M was black I would of murdered it out also. Yours isnt exactly murdered out, you still have chrome pieces showing. Also I honeslty think it would look better if you lowered it and bought mesh wheels in black finish. You did a good job painting them and atleast you went with flat black instead of glossy black.

now is it black or gun metal? i can't tell, the pic from far away looks black but up close looks like gun metal.

i have gun metal on my rims, with the right mix, gun metal on black car is frikin nice! don't let others get you down.

i wouldn't never spray can my rims though and the stock 19 looks pretty good, i think they're more gun metal than anything else.

it's not permanent I can peel it off and my original rim is still under. i used a product called plasti dip. google it alot of other forums use it for rims or for small trims.

First, good job on painting your rims yourself bro. I'm sure that took a lot of time and effort to get them looking that good. I am a fan of gun metal mainly because my M Sport came with the gun metal rims. BUT, the black doesn't look bad either.

Bro if you like it and you think it looks great, then keep your head up and roll big homie! Because really, it's your ride and your vision. Everyone has a little bit of a different style BUT that's what makes it fun and we all share the same luv for our M's.

good job on a DIY project and posting a pik and taking in the critics !!!! if we all liked the same style and looks we would all have the same looking car !!ha ha , keep on modding your way and what makes you happy , for me i think it depends on the car and how you murder it out and you got to do it the right way , thats when murdered out looks good !!!!! if you lower the car it will maybe give it a better look to it with the blacked out rims !all theses cars are blacked out and it never made think they looked CHEAP !!! keep on moddin !!!!!!

Those cars above seem to work because everything is black (all trim, too) AND it takes money to matte black an entire car. Perhaps try that? Otherwise, it just looks like an Altima :(

And as said above, we are not bashing you, this is more like constructive criticism in art class. Think of it this way - would you want everyone to lie to you?

...well, since you're asking for opinions, I really don't like it. Never really a fan of the blacked out thing. However, you could make it much better by 1/ truely blacking it out, 2/ either matte black the body so it matches the rims, or make the rims gloss black to match the body, 3/ lower the car and get 20' with thin tires. However, seeing the route you took, I assume you are not interested in spending the money those routes will cost. It really does look like a cop car smh.
But at the end of the day it's all you, and that's what matters.

Not bad... But IMO, finish out the murdered out theme!! If you're on the fence about permanent black out, try 3m vinyl wrap on ALL trim and emblems, (professionally installed) save some money plastic dip grill(except grill logo)and rear logo/emblems... Wrap window trim and door handles... A nice set of sporty wheels and a subtle drop!! Consider it!!
Can't go half way on a murdered out theme... :gotme
Got any pictures of the front and rear??

I must be too old to even know what "murdered out" means. What does it mean? I agree with the other poster who said finish it and make it all black. Not exactly my taste and I don't understand why someone would do this to a car. But, if that's what you like enjoy it. I just don't get why the need to do so. Maybe someone can explain the "murder out" look and why its done.

" MURDERED OUT " means black everything out ! usually they use FLAT black , they paint almost everything that has a different color or that is chrome to black
and you ask who would do this is ? the person who would do this is a person who likes it ! its like you wanting to paint your car a certain color or put 28 inch rims on a hummer , to each his own.

Fine luxury car now looks like a budget minded civic... especially with those unflattering black wheels.

Zerg711,

I agree. Would someone do this to a Rolls or Bently? Personally I hate the look. Looks like a pimped out gangster machine to me and takes no talent to do it. The resale/trade-in value must drop big time. I can't imagine a dealer being impressed with treating a car this disrespectfully. But, if someone thinks thats the way to go more power to them. And I still don't get the idiot words "murdered out". That has some meaning like "dups" that make no sense to me either.

Whoa, slow down and take your thong out your behind. You seem bound a bit tight. The "best" I can do wouldn't be reserved for you, since everything really isn't about you. But if you must know, the WOW was simply a matter of astonishment of your basic lack of courtesy and consideration for, as corny as it sounds, your fellow member's feelings and efforts…as “talentless” as you sir believe those efforts to be. Not to mention the utter idiocy to compare this car's "prestige" to that of a Rolls or Bently  ...but I thought I'd just sum it up with "WOW" since that's all your two cents seemed to deserve.
