Finally, it begins.
After 4 months of taking apart and putting back together, of busted nuckles and frozen fingers, of frushtration and short fuses, I fianlly drove my car. My 1990 240 hit the road for the first time today and it was fun. Sure the brakes were REALLY soft, and the auto transmission didn't shift all that well. But It finally came back to life. It has been sitting at a co-workers house for nearly a year broken down. When he told me he had it, i told him i'd buy it off him, but he just wanted to get rid of it. It cost me $360 (shipping) total.... well so far. I feel it will have a nice home with me.

Yeah its a project. The first part is have it pass emissions, HA! Actually i think i'm just going to swap out the ka24d and put in a ka24de with a 5 speed and half the milage. The one bright side (besides now owning the car) is that the was no body rot and very little rust (only under the rear wing on the hatch, seems to be a common thing through for older 240s). So at the rate i work and save money I should have the car back on the road in, lets say...december.
