Stillen strut tower brace impressions on the 96q.

Positives:

Tightened up cornering and transitional maneuvers quite welllooks good

Negatives:

Needed to grind a bit of the underside of the bar away.as it was barley touching a bolt on the throttle, causing a loud buzz!installation of the bar has increased the sound of the induction noise on heavy acceleration and increased the feeling of acceleration, through vibration felt through the frame of car and steering wheel

You must have at least 1.25" of clearance from any part of engine as it [engine] torques up and twist in acceleration banging the bar!

Don't feel alone, my Stillen bar had to have a 1/2" ground off it to finally provide clearances.......another example of Stillen using ouside vendors who didn't have a clue, but it looks pretty. or did before the grinding.

Obviously every engine positioning can be a little different and conditions of motor mounts and frame rails and shock tower [bent from wrecks, wheels hitting curbs, running over deer or bodies etc].

Fred, rub a crayon or something on the bar near any critical clearances. The wax will transfer if and when they touch, letting you know. Maybe you can find something less messy than a crayon, like a water-based ink or some kind of powder.

Take it off, and beat it with a sledge hammer. It will do wonders for your state of mind.

Just kidding. Hit the neighbors Lexus, instead.

Jeff.
