i got my motordyne 5/16th spacer today and installed it after work today. took me 2 hrs total... 1/3 of that time was letting the engine cool. If you haven't already got an engine spacer get one! the power band widens and comes down to about 3k rpm. it actually was kinda weird went i first drove it home... as i was used to the torque coming in at 4k. there is also a nice sound enhancement as the front cylinders now get the air they deserve. money and time well spent

i got it directly ordered for me from motordyne for $212.00 shipped because i went through a local performance shop. you can find them on the motordyne website and ebay. it weighs like 4 lbs shipped so shipping shouldn't be that much.

i want to do the fx35 midpipe for now... maybe next year ill do a full exhuast... most likely stillen.

yeah i saw the coolant bypass mod... and it is pretty warm here in ga most of the year. its not high on my list though.

been keeping to my one mod a month aprils mod will be a gtspec struct tower bar and/or engine damper. (money premitting cause i got a trip to NY coming up)

a crank pulley and fx35 mid pipe are also on the short list for this year. then i wont touch the engine til next year.

Question? Will this require a DYI or pretty simple install? Also, I am guessing this will not void the warranty.

Plenum spacer install is really easy. I can't remember for sure but when I bought mine it came with a full and detailed instructions and even how to reset/relearn idle and throttle positioning or whatever its called... It shouldn't take more than an hour.

Motordyne spacers will come with written detailed instructions. Just the spacer install should only take 30-45min. Its pretty straight forward. some bolts is all.

Why the FX35 midpipe???? And not the G coupe mid pipe??? Does it sound better, or is it lighter or higher perfomance?

I'd say for the best improvement but sticking with oem parts, get the HR parts. I have a 350z HR y-pipe on my car.

according to one of the techs on this site the g coupe mid pipe and the fx35 mid pipe are the same thing with different part numbers. yes the fx35 mid pipe is lighter, better flow, and better sound.

im not sure if i can do a HR pipe since i have the g35x... i know its a little different because of the AWD transfer case being right by the Y-pipe. I will look into that.

when i got my 30k service they didnt say anything about the mods on my car... and i got a warranty fix that day also... as long as you install it right with a torque wrench you should be fine.

installing the spacer looks intiminating because you are opening part of the engine... but like some one said its just a whole bunch of bolts, like 18 bolts. my car started right up with no SES lights or leaks. the diffence was noticed immediately. should get better after my trip to atlanta today, cause the ECU will have time on the highway to adjust to the spacer. been mostly short trips back and forth to work since i installed it.

Just take care to not pinch the rubber oil guard around the fill cap when you torque the bolts down...ask me how I know that
