So I've had my coupe a little over two years now and it's been riding at stock height the entire time. The first advice anyone gave me was to "drop the sucker looowwwwwwwww!!!" The stock ride height always bothered me but the thought of installing springs was too intimidating for me.

Anyhow I finally bought some springs off a member here, for a great price, and installed them last night with the help of my dad and my best bud. Here are some before pics!

SO glad that I finally took care of this issue and I'm so much happier with the overall look of the car. It definitely handles better than it did before and I would say the ride is so much smoother! You can feel small bumps about the same, definitely not worse, and larger bumps feel so much better to me. That boaty feeling is gone through cornering too.

Installation took my 3.5 hours and 2.5 hours of that was compressing springs lol If there's anyone in the nashville area I'd be happy to help tackle this again!

Thanks guys, my next mod is going to be headlight modification!

I want to get rid of the orange side marker and maybe do halos like you did.

looks good! They will settle out a little lower in a month or two. Just remember to get an alignment before too long so you don't ruin tires. Ask me how I know lol

Looks much better! :dblthumb:

Personally, I wouldn't do the headlights. I think a nice set of wheels should be next! :yesnod

Nice work. Think i am going to order some eibachs soon and tackle the install myself as well, should be interesting. Was going to wait till i could afford new wheels but that could be far too long and that ride height looks so much better.

Thanks! Just got an alignment today. Last night I was driving home from the Nashville fireworks show and my car was feeling pretty squirrely. It was raining heavily and I was doing 60-80 up the interstate and the car would want to track all over the road. I lost traction for just a few split seconds at a time through a couple of corners and I could feel the car understeer and wanna move sideways a bit. Anyhow that was enough to convince me to go get a professional alignment done.

Here are my results from firestone:

Rear camber was a problem and can't be adjusted any further. It also kind of disappointed me that the front end was never touched at all. For $100.00 you would think they would take the time to make everything as perfect as possible even if it was already within the acceptable range.

Anyhow I havent gotten a chance to drive it hard yet but it felt more solid on the way home.

Ya I'm surprised they didn't try to make everything even. I need to get mine soon too

After I installed Eibach springs I got my car aligned. The rear camber was off 1 degree. I have put 5000 miles on the car, and have not noticed unusual tire wear. I have a Stillen camber kit, but I have not installed it yet. I am going to have the alignment checked Monday. The springs may have settled and the alignment may be out. If they can’t get the camber back to the previous setting, or the tires show excess wear, it will be time to install the kit.

You'll need a rear camber kit to fix that issue. I have lifetime alignment with Firestone, I only use when I raise the car in the winter. They're not the best out there.. if you're gonna pay a $100 every time then you might as well go to a real shop.

Dang that's probably true, sano. My girlfriends dad owns a couple dealerships. Idk why I didn't just go there, they're probably better. I just thought Firestone would do a decent job.

So the lifetime alignments isn't worth it if I don't plan on changing anything correct?

umm not fully correct. You'll need an alignment from time to time even with stock suspension. People don't realize every pothole or dip they take messes with their alignment and toe little by little. And that's how you shorten your tires life span.

I actually recommend getting the lifetime if you're planning on staying with stock height. It's $60 extra and will save ya a lot more money on tires. And they can't say no even if you're there every week. ha!

Thanks for the advice! I noticed you said staying on stock height. Probably doesn't change anything but I'm lowered on eibachs, does that make a difference?

If anything that probably accelerates the wear on your suspension parts because ever bump is that much more harsh. I mainly want to protect my tires and keep them thick as long as I can.

Looks good! Glad you're happy with the springs. I never needed a camber kit on my rears with those springs, however now i'm in the same boat with needing the camber kit for the H&Rs.
