Bought the mount from countryjoycrafts and the smartcord and put it on today. I can say this was one mod I never thought about but it definitely cleaned my interior up. No more wires running down to the hook up anymore.

nice setup man! i was thinking about doing something similar with my Beltronics RX65 but i heard higher up is bad for laser detection... I have never been hit with laser before so I think I'll do this soon.

$41 is a little far out of my budget though, I'm thinking a trip to lowes could get something similar to this done for about $15

What detector are you driving with?

Yeah the RX65 is $300 also, I paid $180 on ebay for it from a guy that claimed he used it once on a road trip, it doesn't matter if he did or didnt it was in perfect condition and that was a quick $120 save.

I think I read that the Passport 8500 X50 is essentially the same as the RX65 because Bel and Escort are the same company. Definitely one of the better units on the market.

Yea they had a sale on them for some military appreciation day here at the bestbuy where I live. Overstock or something of that nature. So with my bestbuy card, plus military discount, plus the discount they already had I got it for $240. Only a $60 dollar save but you cant beat that on something brand new. I was gonna buy something off ebay but I figured why not just through it on the best buy card and pay for it later. Lol I like it from the couple times Ive used it. I had it on the window with suction cups for awhile and it has worked flawlessly so far. We'll see if it still works the same up there. I just love it cause its so clean.

I did purchase from stealth cords. Lol... thank you though for the headsup. I just called it a smartcord. But in fact it is the stealth cord with the discount.
