Finally got the Driveshaft Gotta question though

I finally got a 5spd driveshaft but it looks like this.


I believe that knuckle up toward the stub axle that goes into the trans is for ABS.. my vert does not have ABS.. can I still use this driveshaft? I found that the ABS driveshafts are just a little shorter then the Non ABS ones. Has anyone successfully used this type of shaft when doing the 5 spd swap?

You have to get the non-abs driveshaft. That wont work

What goes into the trans is all the same, the only thing that makes it ABS vs non-ABS is the length. And yes, you need the non-abs DS, unless you swap a VLSD diff into it.

Ok, Found that this is a Non ABS driveshaft. Measured it with a friends Non ABS driveshaft he just took out of his S13. I guess what confused me was the 6 bolt knuckle on the input shaft. For some reason I was thinking thats what defined the ABS vs non ABS.. Thanks for the reply's guys!

It is very hard to see the difference in length of ABS vs non-ABS. It is only like a 1/4 inch or so.

We measured my buddies Non ABS DS and it was 47.5" I measured mine and it was the exact same. I will prolly eventually get a 1 piece DS though.. the stocker weights a TON!
