Finally got my 5 speed ca18det vert running. Just a few issues still to take care of (doors need wired, fans need wired, brakes need bled, etc).one weird thing is that my power top doesn't work but it did before the swap, I'm not sure which fuse controls that but its something I have to look into.

Anyway first impressions:1) wow is this thing flexy, it needs a rollcage more than bob dole needs viagra. Switching over from my coupe was a night and day difference. I'm sure the fact that I have a race suspension and short sidewalls makes a huge difference in exposing the chassis' weaknesses but I'm defintely going to have to invest some money in stiffening this wet noodle. I put my hand on the A pillar going over bumps and dips and feels like it has an inch of play in it seperate from my butt firmly planted in the seat.

2) glad to have the car running! Once I take care of the remaining details I should have a reliable DD... until I get a beater truck so I can strip the remiaining streetability out of the vert.

3) those stupid *** factory door switches apparently aren't compatible with the coupe doors I have on cause my foot well lights never go off! has anyone looked into this and had any solutions besides manually wiring some pin switches in there?

4) I should have a boot cover and hopefully a speedster cover cranked out soon, just a matter of time before I will have that done for you guys to check out.

Don't you have to wire something for the top to go down? I think it's like one wire you have to splice to another...

I thought it was the same 2 wires you gotta splice for it to to start (the park inhibitor switch or whatever).

You are soooo correct that the S13 'vert is a wet noodle. Lots of chassis bracing is needed on these things for anything other than a daily driver/fun car. Even then...some floor bars and connecting all the strut towers together would go a looooong way, IMHO.

As for the door switch...I'm in the same boat as you. My driver side switch is shot (verified with a dvm), and I'm looking for replacements.
