my car has 9:1 wiseco pistons .40 bore...stock head....rev hard manifold...full t4 turbo .57 trim 58a/r ...ebay intercooler...72lb injectors..cobra maf...jwt 72lb ecu..and i put down 330whp/330tq at 13 lbs...with no tuning...just the jwt ecu on a mustang dyno...so its all possible but your snail is outta gas so spend the money and get a bigger one and youll be happy you did...at 17lbs i made 355whp/363tq with a little tuning on my safc so maybe that gives you something to judge by..im still running stock cams so if you went with a bigger turbo i dont know why you can hit 400whp on pump gas i mean damn youre running meth so you could afford 20lbs easy...i wanna follow your progress...drive the hell out of it and get that turbo and youll hit the #'s you built it for!

Add to that slew of insults: UGLY. At least if she'd been good looking I wouldn't have minded as much

Got the GT32 turbo in today, a lot earlier than I expected...once again, hats off to the guys at AMS/Turbo 240...I ordered the thing Thursday and he told me they didn't have one in stock and they'd let me know when they got one. Got home today and the turbo was sitting on my counter!

The compressor's a lot larger than I thought it'd be! I hope it fits the way I was running the old one....if not I'll need to clock the compressor so the outlet is pointing straight up in the air and drill another hole near the hole for my CAI.

Can you guess which one is the GT32?!?

Strangely, they both have 2" outlets, but the ID of the outlet on the GT32 is at least 8 mm larger than the ID on the 2" OD outlet of the T3 super 60.

The turbo will definitely be on before the weekend...no idea when I'll be able to throw 'er on a dynojet though! After this turbo's on I need to re-log all of my A/F ratios through the powerband and play with boost levels again...

Hah, I hope so...

I was looking at the turbo again today compared to the old one and the turbine looks bigger too, even though they're both .63 a/r T3 turbines. Maybe my eyes are just fooling me or it was a different casting mold that makes it appear bigger physically on the outside but is the same on the inside as the other one.

The turbo would probably be on right now if it weren't for local Nissan dealers NOT carrying exhaust manifold gaskets (I took the mani off and am planning on repainting it...doubt it will last long but it'll look better than it does now). You guys will like this one....So I call the parts department at a local nissan and ask "do you have exhaust manifold gaskets in stock for a 95 nissan 240sx," and the guy on the line says "yes." I get up there (25 min drive) and go to the parts counter to get them and the guy (fills the stereotype of the incompetent punk as$ parts-counter worker) is like "ohh, we only have one in stock." And I was like "I called and asked and you said they were in stock." And he's like..."yeah, one of them is in stock." Now what I SHOULD have said, but didn't was "WHAT KIND OF ****KING MORON BUYS ONE EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKET WHEN THERE ARE 4 CYLINDERS AND FOUR RUNNERS TO THE MANIFOLD?!?!?"

Called ANOTHER local Nissan dealer, and guess what--they also only have one in stock! Unbelievable. Why are these not purchased in sets of four?!?! Not to mention, these gaskets are a RIDICULOUS rip-off! I guess I completely forgot, but they charged me $14 EACH.

Anyhow, hopefully the gaskets are in by Saturday (I believe the place I finally ordered from is open saturday till noon), and then the turbo will go in, but I'm not sure because I may be going away for the weekend. Anyway, just felt like posting that story of yet another one of my wonderful experiences with morons in the car industry...

Geez, man, I used some Fel-Pro gaskets from my local parts store (O'Reilly) and they were like $15.00 for the set.

Yea it is because .63 ar is literally just a ratio....you could have a monster turbo (like 150mm on the turbine side) but the housing could be machined/casted to maintain a .63 ar ratio....

So if both turbos have different size turbine wheels, then swapping housings (even though .63 ar is printed on each), would yield a different ratio after the swap...

BTW, I would dyno at the same place you did before (Mustang dyno)...That's truely going to show the before/after differences from swapping to a new turbo...Dont worry about the Mustang vs Dynojet differences for now...What you need to see is the old turbo graph vs the new turbo graph overlayed to see powerband differences...Just like a science experiment, you need some constants...

EXACTLY my point. You don't have to use all that copper, MLS, blah blah junk every time you build an engine. I see 1,000hp nitrous eating V8's at the local strip running Fel-Pro full engine gasket sets and they have no issues.

Felpro gaskets are fine - just make sure you open the box and count them right after you buy them. The last set I bought had 3 exhaust manifold gaskets inside and I didn't find that out until I was ready to get started on the car.

I'd rather not have the copper gasket conduct the heat from the exhaust manifold into the head either. Stick with OEM
