Well after a little less than a year I finally decided to build a amp rack for the amp that has been sliding around in the back of my truck. Got it all made up and its got enough room for another amp for when I get enough cash to redo the rest of the system. All i have left to do is carpet it and make the cap. I plan getting some hardwood and staining it dark and inlaying some strips of aluminum. Here is a sketch of it I made in Solidworks, I'll take pics of it when I get back up to school.

Now I will have to get enough motivation to finish the fiberglass box for the sub so I can finally regain some space in the cargo area.

Wow looks nice!

Mine isn't that intense...

I saved space by having it cover the wheel well.

As a sign of appreciation for letting me use his equipment, I gave to my Dad the gift of saw dust in clothes...... Actually I just like this pic because of all the green. We only see it for a few months here in Winterpeg...

Post some pics when yours is done!

Thats exactly where mine is going, right over the wheel hump, except mine goes from the back of the seat all the way back to the tailgate. I will take pics of it when I get back up to school tomorrow.

Axelpkt good luck with your new mods, having the metal with the wood sounds like it could be really nice. It's always nice to see good craftsmanship opposed to just bulk and ugliness.

Dude this looks pretty sweet! Nice work, I never thought about using that space to mount the amps. Normally I'm not into exposing my amps but this is definitely an exception, very nice! How does it sound with those nice JL's pointed up? I'll always be a JL guy, can't beat em for definition and clarity. Have you done any cable management yet? Cable clamps might work pretty well since you can drill into the mount. Some of those expandable sleeves could really clean too. I think I'm going to use that all throughout my living room rack. Again, nice work brutha.

The sound is tight! It's hard enough to really make the mirrors vibrate but it is the cleanest most responsive bass I've heard. I havn't done any cable management yet - I'll clean that up this spring.

As an added bonus the cargo cover still fits so I can cover the goods when I'm parked in a questionable area (University Campus)

So i decided to get a little creative and try some etching. I plan on sticking this on the amp rack and backlighting it with some red leds. I will post some pics of the amp rack tomorrow when its light out, i still have to carpet it.

looks nice my friend had done a rack kind of like that he had 2 amps one on each wheel well with the wires running underneath the fixture so you couldnt see anything but the amps and left the box right in the middle looked sweet . hes in thunderbay wich i could have got pics.

Very Nice work still.

I have to agree with Empty V, hiding amps is more what im into but if your exposing thats a very goodlooking way to do it.
