What did you pay for all that? Its all used right?

I mean its all made in china. Make sure you run an oil restrictor for the turbo or they usually blow pretty quick. Mine lasted 3 WOT runs.

225 bucks to be exact. im not sure on the turbo, im going to run the serial number on it and see what shows up. a buddy attempted to run 15psi with no fuel management whatsover so there's probably only minutes of actual use on everything. im gonna clean everything up, change the spring in the wastegate if i need to, and continue collecting parts.

im planning on running 8 pounds for a while. i'd like to leave injectors alone as if get any im gonna get 550's at least, and thats a whole new can of beans right thar. the guy is supposed to be bringing the oil feed/return lines this week, i'll probably need a restrictor as he obviously didnt have a clue what to do.

another thing, im planning on getting Emance to tune my ecu, but still everyone swears up and down i NEED a wideband first. now, the wideband just tells me whats going on, right? if so, then if somethings wrong i'll need a piggyback controller of some sort also then, im thinking.

The turbo looks like an ebay turbo to me. The manifold is definitely en ebay piece.

And if you are going to get an e-mance tune, you might want to do some searching on other forums first. Lot of folks unhappy with e-mance right now.

I wouldnt cheap out on your tuning. Lots of people have had problems with Emance. Go with Enthalpy if you want my advice.

well, since im only planning on low boost, 7 or 8psi, i guess i could get by with a fuel pump and fmu for now, and retard the timing a little. still want an intercooler though, just to be safe.

no..wait, my cam's still off, and the distributor timing is 17btdc, heh heh, ah most things turn out for the best. the 3500rpm+ powerband along with a few pounds of boost should scoot

.. eh, question. my exhaust isnt stock, and i cant have a loud one, as they just recently passed a sound ordinance. the ticket is $1,088.. i had my exhaust from the cat back with 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 with just a stock-like muffler. do ya guys think it'll work?? ..maybe

it will be less noise bro! what cam has you off 3*?

I knew this guy running 10psi off a walbro and fmu, put down decent numbers, he sold it shortly after and I havent seen a "its blown" post on the local... I'm not a fan of them , have not used one, however they work in the same fashion I tuned my stock injectors, increased fuel supply via increased pressure...

and that my man looks like an ebay snail even I wont go there...

Def an ebay slug thats for sure. Just dont run high boost, those turbos have a habit of self destructing. Stories of compressor wheel fragments getting sucked up into the engine are a worst case scenario. Also like i said before make SURE you run a .63 oil restrictor. You MIGHT be ok if you follow that advice.

Yea a turbo cancels a lot of the noise that the car will make.

FMU setups are fine(safer than SAFC thats for sure), just run 7-8 psi with 1-2 degrees of timing. Check your oil frequently the first 3k miles to make sure your oil isnt full of gas.

ebay well, to update you guys that havent heard, i bent my valves.. no not because my timing was off, but because i was in rush to get it back together so my buddy could put his timing light on it. the distr. timing actually WAS the problem, not the cams.

well, in my rush to get over there, i didnt torque down the cam sprocket bolt.. this sunday, after about 1000+ miles of driving since the timing was fixed, it backed out enough to let the cam gear slip

... i hate myself but its all good, that 40 was a geezer, all the stuff i needed to restore it would cost an arm and a nut.. so im buying an SE hatch shell with another kade to put in, i reeeeally wanna put my rear fenders on it but.. bleh i dunno, we'll see, but i will PERSONALLY GUARANTEE it WILL be clean when i get done

anyways back to topic. im only planning on boosting 7 pounds, probably indefinately. since i've grown out of the tuner phase, i no longer have enthusiasm for loud bov's and shiny fmic's anymore.. i got a s.s. 3" catback the other day, its being fixed up right. well, really the only thing holding me back is actually getting the other shell. then.. it's oooonnn!! lol jk

man... today i swapped doors with my (red) hatch and my ex-hatch( primer). the window cable's been broke and plus i was bored. soo.. thats the water pump, hatch lid, complete driver side door, cd player, speakers, and rearview mirror rubber thingy i've already donated from my old girl.. well, my plans haven't changed hehe

i'll get some more pics to yall asap, letchall knows whatsa goin oon

Sucks to hear about that, **** happens. Just suck it up and take it as a learning experience. Dont rush anything, slow way down and think about whats been done and what needs to still be done. Double check everything, i know when i build motors i double and triple check that its all torqued down.

Rip the heads off, throw a new set of valves on, and keep on going would be my advice.
