I had my heart set on the 2010 awd g37 coupe. So today I finally got around to test drive it.

It was awesome as I expected.

But to just cover my bases I test drove a awd sedan as well.

And damn it... I liked how the sedan rode better.

I love the look of the coupe but I love the feel, ride and convenience of the sedan.

Not sure if anyone can help with such a personal decision matrix, but any advice will be considered.

I went with the sedan because it was more practical for my use. The coupe IMHO is the better looking ride of the two. It took a lot to convince myself to go with the sedan, but I think I will be happier in the long run.Tom

to add to your dilema the sedan is faster

I love the sedans looks I think it looks better then the coupe so there was no debate for me.

LOL... it's going to come down to what's more practical for you. And what's going to make you happy.

The coupe is hawt as hell, but the sedan is definitely more practical in terms of lugging friends, kids, the wife and her friends around.

The typical dilemma. A lot of sedan owners wish they had the coupe for the looks and a lot of coupe owners wish they had the sedan because it's faster (but really they wish they had the sedan's quickness in the coupe). But, you have Rich over here who has both.

We have an 04 coupe and wife recently traded her 05 sedan for a 08 G35X....I have been loving the X!!!!

It is a tough decision....would depend on if you drive in a lot of rain & snow.Nevermind....I see you're looking at X's in both. Would come down to room then. Would lean toward the coupe if you don't see the need to be toting around more than 1 adult passenger.

Doesnt' Matt have a coupe and sedan G37??? white and red I think

so, yeah, you need one of each!

So the sedan is faster? I thought it had less HP.

What if I go for the g37xS which adds the sports package with bigger wheels and then add the Chin spoiler and rear deck spoiler?

Would that give me an aggressive sporty look? The pictures on the net do not have many 2010 g37xS's with the body extras.

Yeah the sedan is faste but just a margin. It is lighter than the coupe. You can go with any of them. Can't go wrong.

Right now I am in a loaner 2010g37X and love it. It is faster than my 08X.

I love the X.

XS you'll get the sport seats too. Make sure you try it before you buy it. I personally not a fan of those seats. It is a little too hars. But that is personal preference.

I think the X bumper is aggressive enough on the 10. But again it is up to you what you like.

The difference between the sedan and coupe have diminished since the first generation G's. The G37 engine is the same for both. Only slight differences between Auto and 6MT....the new Auto trans is a sweet 7-speed

so you said " I love the feel, ride and convenience of the sedan".

Sounds like an easy choice, you have to drive and live with the car for a while (I would assume) so the sedan it is! You won't see the car when you're behind the wheel, but you'll feel it as you drive it. Not like the sedan looks bad either.

I went with the sport package on mine for the wheels, paddle shifters and largely due to the sport seats. I love the sport seats, but I also have had a vette for years so I'm used to the tight feel and way the side bolstering.

Buy a 07-08 G35 Journey Sedan that is the fastest Infiniti in stock from.

AWD is nice but in a lot of cases in ice or snow it just gives the confidence to go much faster then you really should. Just cause you can accelerate with all 4 tires doesn't mean your going to brake any better then a 2 wheel drive.

Where did you buy and what was the dealer experience? Did you use the VPP?

I bought in Westborough MA.

The dealer experience was incredible. The dealership is pretty brand new and it looked like some upscale jewelry store with huge floor to ceiling windows and modern design. The service was excellent and test drives were long and very friendly.

I did not use VPP. But my bank "USAA" has car buying policy which is haggle-free pricing. I got mine $2000 below invoice and then I was able to get the front spoiler, rear spoiler, wood dash and midnight grill added at no further cost or installation fee. Because thats how I built the car on my banks website. They had to honor the certificate.

I think I got a good deal. What do you guys think.

37,000 for the 2010 g37x sedan with nav, premium, wood dash and the body kit additions.

That's good to know about USAA. I've done business with them for many years, but have not taken advantage of their buying service.

Enjoy the car, we are simply thrilled with ours! My wife was focused on getting a 3-series, but quickly changed her mind after driving a 328X and the G37x back to back...

AWD is not just 'nice' it's GREAT in ice and snow!!!!! I had several times to try it out this winter and it did as good if not BETTER than any 4x4 I've ever owned!!! I won't say that 4x4's brake any better, but they do decelerate better which does help when coming upon an intersection/stop sign. AND, AWD's go faster thru the twisties (wet and dry)!!!! Than NON-AWDs
