lol thats Macs whole marketing thing and it always makes me laugh. the reason why Mac's dont get viruses is because there not compatible with anything and fail. my gf is a die hard mac fan and I always see her run into issues with things not being compatible with her mac....BLKmomba1 wrote:lol mich n hussain... well its doesn't matter mac or not for animation or artists. if your computeur has the specs it will run the software. believe it or not but I was running adobe photoshop on my laptop with a touchpad for more than two years and it had only a mieserly 1.6ghz single core cpu with 2gb of ram. I even still have my old 500mhz celeron that can run it with 386mb of ram. it works well too. for video editing you just need to bump the specs. the OS does little to the performance if the software is well written. anyhowBLKmomba1 wrote:dont knock it till u actually use one man... macs dont get viruses because of how the software is set up... if ur an artist and use powerfull programs like protools, adobe and animation programming macs r the best for production... but this is just my opinion... i had a pc and i was dissapointed, if u wanna watch p0rn... go PC lol!!! but that stillen kit is a nice touch to the alti coupe id say!!!
I've gotsta disagree with you Mehdi. If you put a Mac and a PC side-by-side with the exact same specs, the Mac will run Photoshop far smoother and faster than the PC will. I've done it time and time again with my PC buddies and for the most part, theirs would lag behind. I'm talking, of course, of the Macs with the Intel chips. Their G-series predecessors, while stable, weren't nearly as powerful in my experience.mcheddadi wrote:

yeah I know It's just that I've been using them for years so I know how to optimize it. I run my photoshop of a ram disk and have the install customized to run off the optimized Streaming SIMD Extensions of my cpu like SSE3 and such. plus I run graphics card optimized build of CS2 that uses the graphics card on top of the cpu. thats why my cheapo laptop runs it as fast as modern beasts, since unlike other peoples I don't let the hard drive be a bottleneck and I run optimied builds for my specific cpu (unlike the standard build).ESP wrote:Honestly Mehdi, you're only the second graphic artist I've known who is dedicated to using a PC. I know a photog out here that swears by HP Blackbird, but those things will cost you an arm and a leg...and your left nut.
