It took 2 catco cats and some good tuning from John Reed @ Torqurefeaks but we got it. Some people might be able to get it to pass with one big good cat. I got mine on ebay cheap. Catco are POS cats. This is in oregon and they put it on a dyno and go from 0-40 mph and measure the exhaust emissions. It took me 7 tries and a bunch of little bits of tuning from John. I used 1 catco cat first and that didn't last long. It can be done!!

Now if i can get my crank angle sensor problem fixed all will be quite well.

play nice guys.

SI, good job. There's another guy here in maryland that passed emissions with his SR. I think the guys at heavy throttle put it together for him.

One trick is to restrict air flow. Smaller exhaust, cats, and air box should all help in that aspect. What style of fuel mapping did you go with? A more lean or more rich approach?

hmm,

so i guess one would want to keep their old stock exhaust and use that to get it to help pass then..

nice tips

but we dont have to worry about that much here in texas

Do you still have your EGR? If you were running really lean without an EGR it seems like the NOX would go through the roof.

not sure if i have it. with my first cat nox did go through the roof when we leaned it out. with the 2 cats the hydrocarbons was really high but the nox was dead 0. so when leaned it out and got the hydrocarbons way down and brought the nox up a bit to like .1. I had a good bit of room to play with with the nox.

Hey, civicsi2, I'm looking at your turbo, how's the throttle response on the low end? Does it offer any top end pull? When do you hit 12psi by? 17psi?

Not exactly sure how to answer this. Throttle responce is good i guess, I don't have much to campare it to. Well it reaches full boost at 16psi around 3900rpm. Heres my dyno chart it might help.

too bad the sr20 will never pass emission in California. There's a thing call Visiual inspection. Where the motor doesn't look like it came with the USDM car. Instant failure.
