I am now the extremely proud owner of a 1998 Silver Moss S14 5spd in immaculate condition. Finding this thing was sheer luck, I went to the seller's house in person the day he posted it on autotrader, and that is the only reason I got the car (apparently he had close to a hundred emails by that night). 66k miles, brand new repaint in the original color.

So I now have a real reason to be on NICO, rather than just being the WRX guy who really wants a 240.

All my friends are asking me what I plan to do to it first, and to that I answer: "Learn to drive it". I have never owned a RWD car, so before I go throwing on a super-stiff suspension I'm going to learn the limits of the thing. This is also my first car without ABS, so I need to learn to feel out where the tires begin to lock up.

Anyway, if anyone feels there is any particularly important information I need to know about being an S14 owner (other than how to contain the big grin), please share.

Oh, and my WRX is for sale in the "cars for sale" forum, so someone really needs to buy it:D

If you'll excuse me, it's raining outside, so I need to go find a big open parking lot.

Very awsome man. I suggest the basic tune up, get to know the car and kept it safe! Not many S14a's around.

Oh, and I also had the same thing happen when I bought my 240. After I bought it, the lady had hundreds of calls on it still. And that was a year and a half ago.

Also, what made you switch from a WRX to a 240sx? WRX's are nice rides, AWD, and come with a turbo stock.

Well from what he told me this thing dosent need a tune up.

To bad you couldnt afford the wrx, davis. But you will appreciate the s14 much more. And some tandem drifting will be in effect soon...

Hey hey hey, D. Murphy in the thread.

Anyway, answers:

Switched from the WRX for a few reasons. One was that the WRX was expensive to keep and very expensive to insure. Another was that the transmission is really bad, not only is it not fun to shift but it's also very fragile, and I'm tired of worrying about breaking it. Number one reason is I wanted RWD, AWD is capable, but RWD is much more fun. Besides, I could swap in an SR and still have the total cost be less than that of the WRX, and it'd be faster.

2nd question: I paid $9800 for it, which, given the immaculate condition it's in, is a helluva deal. It just got a $3800 complete repaint (door jams, engine bay, everything).

I will post pics tommorow. I'll get some of both the WRX and the S14 side-by-side, along with probably 2BN_S13's 180 and my roommates FC3S TII.
