Finally got my nsport kit

i jsut went outside to mow the lawn and what do i see on the side ont he house a very large box. what does it say to ANthony Pinto from npsort merry christmas. OMG the first turbo ever in my hands and its goin onto my car. i was goin down the shore today on my day off but i have slightly more important business to attend to. ill have it runnning by the end of the week with my work schedule. jsut had to get it out

Please be as desciptive with you driving with the nsport kit as you can. I also would like you to go and run a 1/4 and give what time you can hit.

didnt get too much done today. mounted intercooler but had to slighty modify the black bumper atachment thing. the bracket int he middle to give it suppsot i had to cut off bend and mount on the next bar (3 bars in front of a/c condensor, one fartherst left). i dont have the bumper core support cuz i didnt like it with my body kit and in the instructions it say to has to be cut flat too. i also removed and sprayed over the NSPORT that they sprayed on the front of the I/C.

big thing i got done tho was prepping the revhard manifold. everyone talks about how it cracks but it doesnt take much to fix. went to my uncles machine shop and used a cutting wheel to separate the flange between the runners, theres almost 1/8" of space between each. also ported out each port to line up with the exhuast gasket which i did not get with the kit. i flipped the gasket around and ported to both ways. it came out really i good i think nice and smooth no sharp edges for the exhaus to have to travel over. and tapped in my autometer egt gauge probe in runner #4 about an inch away from the head

i have to work all day tomorrow. ill get back to the car early sat morning. i was originally like as soon as i get it ill stay up all night and take off work, but this i really have to take my time with to makes sure i do it all right. its not like swapping torque converters by urself without goin to sleep that night.

ok got alot done today but not as much as i wanted. got the oil return line welded into pan thanks to my grand father for welding. had to run around for a 1/8npt union for the T off for the oil feed, either i lost it or they didnt send it to me. picked up exhuast manifold gaskets which werent with the kit. had to srill out wastegate hole cuz they were too close together. had to drill out oil return flange that goes on the turbo cuz holes were too small. wastegate piping wouldnt line up with wastegate when instered itno downpipe. if i drilled them out it might have worked. bolt on manfiold but have to take it off again. most of the ehuast mani bolts u cant get a socket wrench on so i have to find a 14mm crows foot but can only find 13mm, 15mm, and 9/16" all close but not there. seems like i have to modify my flew-a-lite fans cuz the intercooler piping on the passenger side runs right into it. it does look awsome sittin there tho im goint o call out of work tomorrow to finish. i still have the fmu, fuel pump, guages, intercooler piping and to redo the exhaust mani thats all

and sometimes, when i don't have athe right size wrench (seems like i never do) i break out my trusty small sized crescent wrench.

yea tell me about it

im almost there now worked onit for about 8+ hours today had to run around a lil bit tho. all i got left is the I/C cold pipe ( son of a ***** to get), downpipe (nothin hard), fuel pump and gauges egt and boost. its lookin really good tho jsut alot of moving stuff around and modifying lil things. anyone that gets this kit u nned crows fot attachment to torque the exhuast manifold u can only get to three bolts with a socket. u need them to torque the turbo down too. btw my dual 12" flex-a-lite fans are in the way of the i/c cold pipe so im goin to have to sell those and get a permacool or some pepboys special fan. for now tho im jsut using the stock fans with no shroud. hopefully my front bumper will allow enough air flow to keep everything cool. i should get it done on tuesday

well i called out of work today to finish my car which i did. it started up fine but then i saw the oil light flashing. i didnt have the oil feed line on the T off that good so all 4 quarts of the synthetic oil i put in were sprayed on the ground. luckily i bought 4 quarts of cheap oil i was goin to use first. car pulls great and chirps a couple gears, remember im an auto with vlsd and 255 kumho mx's in the back. to get the intercooler piping to line up i had to cut off about an inch of the chassis in front of the a/c condensor to move the intercooler back a lil. big problem i have right now tho is the deltagate wastegate that is suppose to open at 7psi tops is lettin me build boost to 9-10 psi. my egt's stay under 1400 degrees except for the one run that i actually floored it for a lil and it pointed straight down but wobble back and forth past 1600 degrees then came down to 800 in about 5 seconds maybe less. that was the only time that it got really high.

on a good note i start making boost around 2500 rpm's and making full boost at about 3500 i think. could be cuz im only running the downpipe right now. im bringin it in to get it extended to my exhuast early tomorrow morning and to close the hole for the wastegate to get rerouted.

im hearing this tch-tch-tch-tch sound. i was think it might be compressor surge but i can hear it while im on the gas. anyone think it jsut might be the exhuast coming out of the wastegate hole?

i cant think of much else if anyone has any questions jsut ask. all in all it was worth the 8 hours a day for the past 3 days and $$$$.

vengance- i will im prob goint o go to atco tonight ill stop by before.

4felix20- all i could say last night is wow and OMG. ill give it half throttle and its so much faster tahn before. full throttle is crazy but my egt's jumped that one time so i had to watch it. i want to get it to a dyno shop and hopefully they will have an air/fuel tester there.

i will take plenty of pics once it get nice out now, its raining, and i clean the car up nice. since it raining im not goin to be able to get to the track tonight. the car is still boostin up to about 10psi but my egt's still arent gettin past 1400 degrees. although i havent really floored it all the way really. im goin to order a tail wastegate hopefully this week. and i found out what that tch-tch-tch noise was. my undercover was dragin on the ground one of the bolts ripped through so now its basically in two peices.

Aluminum melts at what, 1575 Farenheit right? Be sure to watch those EGT's, on a 0-140mph run I reach 825C at 19psi which is at 12:1 A/F (about 55% injector duty), just so you have something to go by, also, I idle at about 500c :)

1427F yeai havent gone past 1400 yet except for the one time i really floored it up to 80-90. then i saw my egt needele pointing striaght down, wiggle, i let off the gas then it came down to like 900F

it did that again today wiggled really faster between like 1000f and 1200f. it seems like it mightbe an electical thing but i dont know what it could be. might be how i have the 12v power source hooked up. right into my fuse for the a/c
