well i finally got my 95 vlsd....and i come to a desicion to install it my myself. i think i did enough reseach to be able to tackle this job. it seems to be a bolt on affair. 4 bolts to the propellor shaft and the 6 bolts on each side of the output shafts, 2 bolts holding the front diff and 2 bolts holding the rear. that should do it.

i'm going to install this tonight, just need to get a couple of tools and the diff oil (2 quarts of 80w-90 gear oil, is this ok?)

just wanted to let you guys and gals updated on my girl....

yup, sounds good, its basically take out, put in affair, lotta bolts to remove and replace haha, but thats jut time consuming, other thing that can be a pain is wiggling it back in, but its not bad at all imo, and yes standard gear oil will work fine since the vlsd unit is a sealed one. Have fun, its a great upgrade, i put a 300zx na vlsd in my s13 a lil while ago, definately worth the effort

well...my baby is now equipped with a vlsd, man i so happy :asmile the only down fall was that i could't fully test her because there were about six or seven cop cars w/ lights on (due to a party), maybe that was a good thing.

so now i just have to check for leaks and get ready for the d1gp on sunday :asmile

the install was alot easier than i excepted. you definately need two people to do this job!

i could tell an immediate difference with her, i could accelerate harder out of a corner. breaking the end loose isn't as easy as before, but then again there were cops last night.

i'm just so happy.....not just because she got an lsd now, but i installed it myself.

well my next project is to remove the battery to the back and make a custom intake, so that the air filter will be behind the passenger side foglight (if it doesn't go well then i just buy an AEM cold air intake)

ps did i mention that i'm one happy mofo....

240driver39: How did the 300zx LSD work out for you? How much did it cost you to replace the output shafts? What of the modification I've heard of when it comes to mounting the frond end of the LSD? Sorry so many questions.
