I had asked if anyone had done this a looong time ago... I think biggie (?) was the only one. I finally got around to doing it yesterday.

I just dremeled out a hole and used JB Weld to fix the switch in place. Your knee will not hit the switch as long as you place it on the "upper part" of the cover.

If anyone is wondering how the wiring is done:

1. Cut and strip the cruise control switch wires.2. Cut and strip only the Green/Orange and Green/Yellow harness wires (leave the Green/White wire connected - the horn needs it!)3. Connect the White switch wire to the Green/Orange harness wire4. Connect the Green switch wire to the Green/Yellow harness wire5. Tap the Green/White harness wire and connect it to the yellow switch wire.

Nice! Looks really well done. So does this mean your old wheel is on the market now?

For the "oh dookie" handle, a vert owner needs to do the door pillar mod and then get two little metal tabs off of the passenger door of a junker coupe/hatch. Bolts right up if you have all of the parts.

Thanks man. I offered to send you my old wheel for the price of shipping, but you didn't commit. It's gone now.

Wha? When did this happen? I wasn't aware...must've missed an email or something. Oh well, still a nice set up ya got now. Like stealth CC. I say you should pop out the CC On/Off buttons and make them say something else, like Drift On/Off or something

When you guys are reaching down to turn on cruise control...how do you know you are pressing the right buttons?

The 2 buttons together, one is raised, one is lowered. Then the cancel is seperate.

Can you take a pic of the wiring? i took off the black plate that was on the stock steering wheel. Do I need to use that or what?

You just need the button assembly out of the stock steering wheel. I didn't use that big black plate.

I don't have a pic of the wiring, but am willing to answer any questions you have.

I've been looking for this. Nice modification! Which harness are you reffering to?

I was also wondering about this to put an aftermarket wheel on since the stocker is pretty rough. Did you consider other locations, such as the console? It would require extending and routing the wiring but that's just time.

Thats pretty neat. I would of taken the wire loom and relocated it into the center area consul area. I think it would be neat to mold it in somewere in the center near the shifter or something?

neat setup though.

Take off the bottom cover of the steering column. You'll see the connector with the wire colors I mentioned.

It could easily be relocated anywhere you like by extending the harness. I considered it, but decided that the location biggie used was fine for my purposes. I only turn cruise on for long trips; it's impossible to use cruise in D.C.

Someone on on this forum mentioned how he accomplished that not too long ago. Search around I guess...
