Hey everybody. After about a year's worth of research and looking just about everywhere, I finally found and purchased my own Altima.

I got a brand new 2008 Altima SE with the 3.5 V6 and six speed manual. This car was a demo and had 4000 miles on it and has been sitting in the showroom for the past three months. It had the Sport option (fog lights, moonroof....oh man thats cool!! and spoiler). Came with the splash guards and floor mats.

The outside is Frost White and has the Frost white interior as well (cloth). Upon actally looking at the exterior, I realized that their was metal flakes in the paint..cool!!

I had to go out of my way to go get it, but was well worth it. I live in Central Maine and travelled down to Western Coneticutt to get her. Traded in my 2008 Lancer and away I went. I paid $22 000 for the Altima. Did I do ok?

Coming home, man, was I surprised how quiet everything was. No noise coming thru the window seals, couldnt hear the engine, even the tire noise was minimal.

Avgeraged about 70 mph and the avg fuel economy for my trip was 28.6 mpg. Im good with that! She has some ooomph under the hood..no problem getting up and goin!

I seen some pictures on this GREAT website that had wood attachments for the dash. I thought that looked very sharp! This will be my first mod.

Anyhoo, I thought I would share my ride.

I ll post often. I ll try and get some pictures out.

Later gang.

Lee

I'm jealous-er, I paid 25 idk, CVT may be the reason.

Oh if you came from the base lancer you deff have a real car now, I test drove one while I was shopping and the only thing that I liked was the "flappy paddle gearbox" as Jeremy Clarkson would say. lol If you came from an EVO...... anyway lets see the the ride!

I had a 2008 Lancer ES (middle trim level) with the five speed. Didnt have the fancy paddle shifters. And definately was not an EVO. The car had the aggressive styling and great fuel economy, but performance was lack luster...good handling though.

After one winter of driving up here in Maine, i started to see rust down to the bare metal on the bottom of all four doors!!! Three to four inch lengths thru out the bottom sills. I took it to the dealer and they said..well, warranty dont cover that...has to rust from the inside out....WHATEVER..i was furious! One winter on a brand new car and it is rusting right in front of my eyes. Oh, they did give me a touch up paint pen for the rust. Was kind of them. NOT. All the little rock chips in the hood, down to bare metal, all rusty.

So, gonna really take care of my Altima, more so than the Lancer. I frequently waxed/polished it with a good brand (zaino brothers anyone?) and will do the same to the Altima, if not more.

Pictures coming soon. Need to read up on how to do it.

Later all...have a great weekend.

Hmm... did you get this car from Wilson Nissan in Torrington? I just picked up my 3.5 Altima Coupe from there about a week ago and the sales person was telling me about someone who came down from Maine to buy their last manual transmission 3.5 coupe. It has to be you - how many people from Maine would come to CT to buy a car?
