well i had my 95 240sx for about 4 months now. i kept her stock unitl now. i have always been driving fwd, and i must say rwd is so much fun, even when she stock.

on July 13, i'm finally going to take her side-ways safely ;) i'm taking a drivers training on drifting, a hour class time and 3 hour track time. i'm so excited....(waku-waku shi-te-ru)

well back to the topic, so i've decided to get her TEIN HE's ($1299 out the door). initially, i was going to buy an kaaz lsd, but i did my homework and it would be better to do up the suspension, f/r strut bar, and upgrade stock sway bars. but it would not be all at once, over time. then some power adders and upgrade bushings (still doing some homework on it).

i do have a question, w/ the HE's...will i be okay w/ the f/r camber? I know that the front have camber adjustment, but how about the rear? any advise on what to replace while i'm changing the suspension?

just wanted to let you guys know, you guys and gals have been very helpful....thanks

Yeah get an LSD. But when you order it, make sure you order the new sideshafts at the same time. Otherwise you'll be like me and have it sitting in your room and having to wait for Nissan to get you your damn sideshafts. It's like being 4 years old on christmas eve all over again, it won't get here fast enough.

You dont need anything to drift but yourself and a Car. A LSD will improve your drift better than anything else you buy because drifting with out one sucks (trust me i know), it will be pretty hard. Having a fresh clutch helps out alot to with clutch kicking (you probably learn this in that class your taking if you dont know already) cause it sucks arse when you try to break loose the back and your clutch just starts slipping.

Oh yeah, and have fun

at first i was going to put in a lsd, but when i went and checked out my car i remebered the previous owner had replaced the front shocks but not the rear. when i checked it out the rear rubber cover was pretty torn up.

plus i read in turbo magazine (interview w/ orido), that beginners should start w/ suspension first, then power adders, then lsd. I thought lsd being last on the list, was kind of odd. But then again, what i do i know, i'm just a rookie. :boink

my plans: 1 - teins HE's 2 - f/r cusco strut bar 3 - lsd or the next thing that breaks 4 - sway bars (not sure which ones, still doing research) or the clutch if it starts to slip or the next thing that breaks5 - then power adders i/e/h.....etc

let me know what you think?

If you can find a hicas s13 in a junkyard, they have larger swaybars...pull em off and install them on your car. Uber-cheap swaybar upgrade.:)

sr20power - this Orido interview you speak of...he say sLSD last on the list correct? i wonder if this is because he is thinking that most of the cars people are gonna start with already have a VLSD. im not familiar with what silvias and 180sx in japan came with VLSD or not so this is just ashot in the dark.

Hi, I would suggest that if your car does not have a VLSD, find one and install it in your car, it will help. I am planning on buying a 1993 Nissan 240SX Hatchback and drift with it, and this is how I am going to go by my mods:Tires, Wheels, Brake Rotor, Brake Pads, and Brake LinesthenStabilizer Bars, Strut Bars, Bushings, and Coiloversnext1.5 LSD ( going to upgrade to a 2 way, but 1.5 is good for beginners I hear) (When you buy an LSD like from Kaaz, do I need to buy side shafts also? and if I get a VLSD form a junkyard, does it come with it too? I'm kind of a noob when it comes to LSD's)LastRacing Seat, Harness, Steering Wheel, Shift Knob, Hand Brake and Pedals

Along the way I am planning on adding a really good stereo setup and an even better security system (my friend reccomends Clifford)

So it should look like this: Tires, Wheels, Brakes / Suspension / LSD / Interior

Hopes this helps!

If your drifting I dont recomend you buying new wheels and for beginner drifters I woudl recomend acisonte tires in the rear and some sticky's up front. If you have nice wheels you wont want to drift. i know I dont, so I bought some steeiles that I dont care about and some more teardrops. I fear no curb!
