I'm getting new paint!!!!My friend is helping me do body prep, etc, i bought 400, 80 sandpapers, spray bonds, acetons, tapes, some type of glue i don't know, etcanyway bought everything for less than 100 bucks, i'm just gonna do the body prep, and let the shop guy do the painting job. (so i can save about $366 dollar for body repair and all the rip-off service from the shop )

Anyway VOTEI'm also getthing FN01R-C Hyper black wheels.

My car is S13 with Silvia front-end. (JDM dual projectors you know)Original color is Burgundy(?) red wine color.

I guess its ok if you don't paint the jams as long as you stay red. Just find a good place to do the prep because dust will be everywhere.

Yeah, the place that prepped mine got dust EVERYWHERE. I got it back the morning of prom, and had to bust my *** all day cleaning the dust out of it.

Definately get the door jams painted if you get something other than red. I have a red engine bay and blue car, and I hate it.

I asked what color I should get when I was trying to decide, and it really doesn't matter what everyone else tells you. You will change your mind so many times...just get what makes you happy.

Red paint is expensive, though.

I'd strip the car, and paint the whole thing black But that's just me.. and my love of nice black paint. It's not that hard to take the interior apart.. Just follow the FSM and label all parts

I was sold on black for a while, then the guy convinced me to change my mind because it will be hard to keep clean. Like blue isn't just as hard...

Metalflake looks nice, just get it done by a good shop. I don't like the flake that looks like it is just stuck to the paint...has to look like its in the paint know what I mean?

Theres a Fusion tires catalog at my work and there is a sweet WRX in there - lime green almost up to the glass, about 2 inch thick dark green stripe, then black the rest of the way up.

Im a big fan of do it yourself jobs. Im sure that if you take your time with the prep for your paint job, you are going to do a much better job than any Joe Shmo is going to do. Ive been told by everyone I know that the most important part of painting a car (or anything for that matter) is the prep work. In fact I was just discussing (over the phone) stripping down and doing the prep work for my own car when it comes time for paint. I was thinking, stripping down everything though... windows, molding, lights...etc, then just hiring a tow truck to bring the car to the paint shop. Im sure that a tow truck won't cost as much as what the shop would charge you in labor to jack up your prep job.

I love black color too. Imagine Black S13 with Hyper Black Fn01r-c wheels....OMGbut problem is, i don't want people(specially and mostly me) to be disappointed everytime i pop up the hood and trunk.... In my experience, painting interior or anything with Can spray like SCC mag did, is absolutely not an good idea. Stripping the OEM Blue paint of WRX STI, and paint it with 5 dollar can sprays, and call it COOL! was the stupidest thing i ever saw.Anyway, my point is, even thou i don't like RED color that much, i should paint it red. Talk about paint job, i plan to go to macco. $599 dollar package.

taking the interior part is no problem. i've done is many times.

Oh there's some RED S13 silvia pictures in General Forum.
