Well I replaced my starter after the old one just clicked. It turns the motor over now. But, it still doesn't start. This is after I just completed my engine swap (hasn't started at all yet), I have a 91 240sx and the motor was from a 97 240sx. One thing I forgot to check for is spark. I would check now but my friend lives 20-25 minutes away and my car is in his garage. I have gas in the car. My EGR valve isn't on completely because I couldn't get it fitted properly, but I was going to worry about that after I can atleast get the car running. Anyone have any suggestions for when I go back out?

check the timing. i'm in the same baot as we speak. i have a 92 and droping in an engine from what i believe is a 95.

i'd check all of your grounds. i think my timing is the reason i'm not starting.

also, what did you do about the tps sensor? did you swap them out or did you leave the second plug unconnected?

No one said anything about swapping the two so I left it unplugged. I don't think it would really effect anything would it? Anyway, how do I check my timing? Just move the distributor around?

Since I didn't connect one of my main grounds (the one from the battery trey to the intake mani) I burnt another ground wire in half. Since then I haven't really heard my fuel pump come on when I turn the key, I think I may have blown a fuse (hopefully it's only that). So I'm going to go over and check the fuel pump fuse, check for spark, and make sure I didn't mix up my fuel lines. I can't do much else. I think I'll give this a couple more days but after that I think it's safe to say I'm not going to figure it out and I'll have to pay a bunch of damn money for a mechanic to look at it. I figured I would have this thing running by now

don't give up. i havn't and my car hasn't been running for about 2 months......granted i can only work on it 1 day a week....but still!

anyway... make sure your at tdc and then stab the rotor with the cap off. make sure it is pointing at cyl 1. this should get the timing close enough to start the car.

Yes sir you did. I myself had the fuel lines switched haha. THEN I found out I had my plugs on wrong. I just bought a new starter from frying my other one trying to start it so much. So I'm gonna toy with it a little tomorrow and if I can't get anywhere I'm taking it somewhere to have it done.
