Ok. Finally finished my swap. And running perfectly. Just need to flush coolant. But yeah, the swap was done last week, but the gasket to the manifold and turbo blew (didn't check before installing.) And today I just finished replacing that gasket and exhaust manifold gaskets as well. Runs PERFECT! I love it. Just need a bov now.. lol Here are some pics. I <3 this motor.

did you do it yourself? If so how hard was it? I'm going to go look at a motor next week for my swap and will be doing the work myself most likely. I'm just trying to get a heads up un trouble spots like a/c lines and such. Good job on your swap and have fun with it.

Yeah I did the swap myself. I did have my friend do my wiring though. It wasn't that hard. This was actually my first ever swap in my life. Took longer than needed. Just be prepared for delays and extra parts. I also did a 5speed conversion on it while I had the motor out. The motor removeable was really easy (except if you have a SOHC, the downpipe is a PITA to remove). Putting it in was a little harder (little experience with a crane) but it went in smoothly. I also took out the AC lines / bracket / pump / compressor. That was really easy too. Just be sure to bleed the AC lines safely and properly. Good thing I had no freeon in mine. Also if you have an 89, be sure to source some DOHC power steering lines. The trouble spots I see is mostly prep work for your motor. Be sure to do maintainence. Look at the stickies. Change front / rear oil seals, belts, waterpump, timing belt, etc.. Good luck on yours!

btw i was a previous owner of an rb240sx. And the CA18 feels like it should be in the chasis. Alot more maneuverable and much lighter.

CA18 FTW!

Yeah, I've been pricing power steering lines at work as I got a 90 s13. I want to keep my a/c but if need be I will part with it. I could live without it here in Washington state but not in the summer heat of Texas. Thanks for the heads up.

Sure what problems are you running into with the 5speed swap? Here is some advice before you get started:

1. Be sure to have all the parts, clutch pedal, hardlines, master cylinder, etc. Especially this clip that holds the master cylinder and the clutch pedal.

2. I would recommend getting a drill bit big enough to drill a hole for the master cylinder through the firewall. I think it was like 2" or something i forgot. Just compare the MC and get one a little bigger.

3. When drilling you'll see marks on the chasis to drill.

4. Don't bother changing the auto brake pedal. Just cut it and get a manual rubber piece to put on top. Saves awhole of time / trouble.

Other than that, it probably took me 20minutes to get the master cylinder in there and pedal attached.

Its more of an indentation on the firewall for the master cylinder. The indentation will either be an area thats pushed in from the firewall or pushed out from the firewall. After that find the right size drill hole bit for your drill or make small holes on the indentation and hammer away. Theres other methods but Ill leave the search to you.
