I finally finished my brakes, suspension, lower link, and wheel bearing project!! I took it out for a spin and its like a completly different car it stops shorter much more stabil in the corners. I am soo happy with the tokiko blues and the new rubber all around it feels 300% different, so worth all the time and $$$ spent its like having a new 55k car. I found a used caliper holder on a 91 q with only 22k!!! it had a bad engine so I got a couple of bolts anf other odds and ends. Now the next project is the plenum and stuff like that. I am getting a new alignment on monday and having the brake fluid flushed, unless you guys have any tips to do it myself easily.

Just if you wanna know I replaced every part of the shock assembly except the spring on all 4 wheels all bushings on both front and rear sway bars. most of the old bushings had split in half and disingrated when I took them out!!! All the rubber on the shocks was hard and very brittle and about half the size of the new rubber. If anyone is considering this I would say it is worth it!!!! you just gotta be patient

Do you have a parts list to post? That would be helpful as your r&r was comprehensive.

Congratulations on your project! If you can handle that stuff a brake bleed is nothing. Use a Mity Vac bleeder, or splurge on the primo Griot's Garage vacuum bleeder ($70) which is very slick. Bleed the two fittings on the ABS block while refilling the master cylinder until it runs clear, then bleed each caliper until they run clear. Two 12 oz bottles should be enough. Don't spend a ton on fancy brake fluid, just do them at least every two years to avoid moisture build up in the fluid.

Yeah Ill have the complete parts list on monday

where would I get one of those bleeder things I wouldnt mind spending 70 bucks on somehting thats that easy to use and does such a good job.

Congrats. This sounds exactly what I'm planning to do this fall on my 94 Q (including the brakes). Looking forward to your parts list.

Good job! That didn't take too long, even with the broken pins. The brake job is pretty quick--for less than you would pay a shop, you can buy some speedbleeders off their website. There's also bleeders from Earl's Performance Plumbing, which is actually not too far from where I live. They were about $12/pair. Replace the factory fittings with the bleeders, then every time you need to bleed the brakes, pull the tire, loosen the fitting, and pump the pedal until the reservoir is almost empty and/or the exiting fluid is nice and clear. Takes about 1/2 hour to do all 4 lines, and less than a quart of fluid.
