Hey NICO.
So I have owned my z for a couple months now, and after reading another members check in, I decided to do my own. This is my first car that likes to go above 60 miles per hour, and also the first car I have started to work on.
My z is a 1992 pearl white 5 speed N/A.
She came with around 116k,
upgraded clutch,
a random body kit (I like the front lip alot)
recently tinted windows,
8 out of 10 interior,
everything in great running shape!
There are some random cosmetic issues around the car, nick here broken plastic there, and the wheels are looking kinda rough, but nothing that can't be fixed.
Here she is!

So far I have replaced all the spark plugs with NGK's,
replaced the intake with a Z1 intake, replaced the MAF,
replaced balance tube o-rings,
oil/oil filter,
re-tinted the fog light covers,
got the stereo working :bigthumb:
ripped the side skirts off but now I regret doing so,
and cleaned the CRAP out of it.
I am in love, and I have many many plans for the future!
Thanks for reading, James

A set of stillen side skirts would go well with the overall look of the car.

bartZ32tt- Thanks for the identification!
Z-owned- I ripped off the side skirts in the photo, and tried to replace them myself but that didnt work out too well. Ended up damaging the crap out of the new side skirts, luckily they weren't very expensive! Does anyone have the stillin side skirts? I am wondering if they come pretty well fitting with little to no adjustments.. Any feedback would be great!

Its cool to see a bunch of z owners in WA, there are only a handful that I see around Olympia! Is it normal for me to have actual dreams about doing a TT swap?

The stillen skirts fit pretty good out of the box and they are are made of urethane as opposed to fiberglass like most which helps as well.

Alright I may look into those. But I have a few things in mind that I want to do first, I really need to get up and find a parts car! I need to replace some random things; third brake light, fender splash guards, all the weather stripping and moldings around the windows and tops...

BTW I am really loving your car z-owned, Im hoping mine will look 1/2 as good!

Haha, cause I got the same quick notification from fellow Nicos members the minute I post pics of my Z the first time I joined in. Now, it is always the first thing I check on a Z running on stock wheels.

**UPDATE**

I've been super busy so I have yet to take anymore pictures, but they are coming. Doesn't help that the girlfriend moved out and took the nice camera with her.

A couple days ago car was starting to heat up more than it should, luckily I was only a block away from my house, so I drove home and shut it off. Realized I was low on coolant, drained the radiator, and replenished. Temp has been holding just fine ever since.

I am guessing that I have an injector out, normal symptoms as far as what I have read. Hesitation, bouncing rpm's at an idle, but spark plugs are good, as well as the coil packs. I'm planning on replacing the injectors anyways, I figure either way it needs to be done! But I have never pulled the plenum, have no idea what replacement injectors I should get, or how to convert my old style injectors to the new ones. But I have been looking around as I slowly pull funds together.

On another note, my T Tops are leaking SOOOOOOO bad. When I first got the car they leaked, but it was very minimal. Tried cleaning them, lubing them, all the little tricks I have read about, but it seemed to make it worse. Time for new weather stripping! But Im probably not going to drive the car much this winter anyways, so it can wait. Not to mention my T tops should be replaced either way, the locking mechanisms are completely broken, deep scratches in the glass, and the rubbers are obviously destroyed.

Other than that, I have just been cleaning up under the hood, and researching more and more about the car online when I can. As soon as my lady brings over her camera Ill be taking more pictures, maybe Ill even get a day when its not raining so I can get some scenery in there.

Check those fuel injector connectors for corrosion and for worn boots, di-grease them and see if that helps. Also di-grease your CAS and CTS connections and really any others you can get to, and check your vacuum hoses and fuel hoses while your at it...the wet cooler weather here now finally in Washing-me-tons State is at work in your engine bay most likely.

Converting old style to new style isn't that hard at all. The kit I bought from Z1 came with everything, you just put the adapter on the end of your new injectors, pushing them into the fuel rail and tighten down the new caps. Then you just need to cut off the old injector connectors and solder on the new ones. It's just 2 wires per connectors. It's way easier to do this with the fuel rail out of the car... once you have the plenum off it's not too hard to get the rail out.

Is it possible to get at the injector connectors without pulling the plenum? Ill hopefully have a chance to take a look at it this weekend. By the way, what is the CAS and the CTS? Where are they located, what are their functions?

t.mcginley.jr - So it is an adapter that just slips onto the injector and plugs right into the fuel rail?

It is possible to get to the injector connectors without taking the plenum off, but if your plenum isn't dremeled yet you won't be able to remove the actual injectors with it on. The harness for the injectors and coil packs sits on top of the plenum and some of it is hidden under the throttle cover.

The CAS is the crank angle sensor and is the round aluminum sensor sticking out of the driver side timing belt cover. CTS is a kind of Cadillac... haha jk, in this case its the coolant temp. sensor, there's actually 2 of them on the upper coolant pipe. One tells the ECU what the coolant temp is and the other is for the temp. gauge.

As for the injector adapter kit, yes they give you 6 little round metal piece with an o-ring that slip on the end of the new-style injectors so that they fit snuggly in the old-style fuel rail. After you push them on the injector, just push the injectors into the rail, put the new caps on and tighten the screws down (they give you new caps and hex head bolts).

With the car being 20 years old, and chances are the injectors haven't been replaced, I'd recommend pulling the plenum to swap them. You can bypass/reroute some stuff to make it easier in the future while you have it out. But the reason I'm saying to pull the plenum, is it will not be easy to remove or reinstall them with the fuel rail in. Removal and installation require some decent force. And being cramped on top of the engine is not the best way of doing it. Just my 2 cents. Get you some new seals for under the fuel rail as well. They usually crack, so change them to prevent fuel pressure leaks

Nice!
Thank you both for your input. Im planning on pulling the plenum and replacing the injectors as soon as I get all of the money together, so I will keep updating!

Im sure that I will be getting lost a million more times, so thank you for your patients and help in advance!

Any time! When I did my plenum pull I had the engine out. I'm pretty sure mine hadn't been removed since the factory put it on, so I had to cut all the rubber hoses as they were all hard as rocks.

If you shove a small flat screwdriver in the opening of he hose after ou remove the clamps, it breaks the seal. Then just grab a pair of pliers and twist. It finishes breaking the hose loose
