Finally checked my compression today.

Found my compression test kit in the back of the Garage today, I've been looking for the darn thing for over two years now... I was determined not to pay anyone to do something that simple.

I got this roughly: 159, 150, 159, 152

I just changed the plugs, plug wires, front o2 sensor, dist. cap, dist. rotor and the MAFS.

I'm blowing greyish white smoke when I rev the engine but it doesn't smell like gas and it's not burning oil. Though, I did just find out my coolant is rusty water.

check under your oil cap and see if you have water condensation or coolant on it.

Open up your radiator cap and start up your engine, see if it spits water up upon start up.

You said that your coolant is rusty color, would that be the color and complexion of YooHoo?

If you answered yes to any of the above, you have... "blown head gasket" =/

even though you have high numbers on a few, the difference between them is

No condensation or coolant visible on the cap, no signs of coolant in the oil that I can see. Also, no signs of oil in the coolant.

I haven't tried starting it without the cap on the rad yet. I'll check that one in the morning when I can see.

The color of the coolant is rust, not brown. Here is a picture of it:



UPDATE: 12/19/2008

So I went to the shop today. They did some kind of chemical test to see if I had any head gasket leaks. They say it showed no signs of a leak and the head gasket seems fine. They did the check three times and it tested no leaks so far.

Noticed the start was kind of weak when I picked it up. Figured my acid covered battery is finally dead and went to pick one up. Almost didn't start when I went home, figured it was the battery and would change it when I got home.

Then I got home... And the car would not restart. I cranked it and all I can hear is the sound of the starter spinning, and I see nothing moving. I'm pretty sure the starter is busted.

I was home 30 minutes before I had to cancel the rest of my appointments until next week when they can replace my starter. From there it was on the flatbed headed right back to the shop...
