Mine are a bunch of rings. They should have been replaced a while ago. I just ordered a new set and I'll let you know when I get mine replaced.silver2k2 wrote:I need to get some of those boots then I image changing them is the same process as changing the struts. luckily mine look like they just broke so not much dirt yet inside.
The shop that did mine was the Infiniti dealer. They claim that they did 3 coats of pearl. One other shop that I was going to get it done at said he'd do 6 coats and I was going to watch him do the job. I wish I took it there to be honest, because the dealer here are a rip-off. My rear bumper was painted through insurance, because a kid rear ended me. Fortunately, it was only a small scratch. They billed out $1200. The other place would have done it for $700.silver2k2 wrote:I know pearl is real hard to paint but I plan to give it shot anyways, the technique I have heard to use it to spray the pearl coats real light and build until you get the correct hue. How much did the shop charch for the repaint. Its 118 a pint at paintscratch.com
What tires do you have? I chose to do all 9 at once, because I took in consideration the age and mileage of my car and figured that if 4 were bad, who's to say what the condition of the other 5 is? Keith is awesome and I just wanted to do it in one step instead of having a suspension that was half working if you will. It kind of made me think, would I replace 2 springs and 3 shocks? The pain and expense was there so like a band-aid, rip it off in one quick motion and be done. I'm happy I did it that way.silver2k2 wrote:What weird is the car handles really well, and does not dive when braking it just rides rough. Do I need to do all 9 at once?
I clean my car once a week as my car is white everywhere and can get dirty easily. I washed and scrubbed my mats so many times and dirt still comes out. I use the black mats usually, and the white mats on certain days. I have 3 complete oem sets of floor mats. I uses 303 areospace protectant for the vinyl and Meguiar's for the leather, since I ran out of the good stuff. I enjoy cleaning my car.silver2k2 wrote:The inside is kinda dirty, but I think it will clean up nice. I power washed my mats 2200 psi and they came out pretty good. I will post some before and after shots after I get it fixed up inside.
Everything inside works its just needs cosmetics which is fun in my opinion
I wish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!silver2k2 wrote:The nico consult has not access to the active computer, wouldnt that be cool anyone here want to write some code?
The previous owner of my car gave me all 3 sets with the car when I bought it.silver2k2 wrote:How much did you pay for the mats? I need to call Joe he said around 100
I hate Leatherique restoration dye as I destroyed an exlclusive 1 of only 6 interior using George's products and would never recommend them. The Rejuvinator Oil and Pristine Clean are fine, but not the dye. I'd rather find a used set of seats at any price that are mint than attempt to re-dye. That's just my opinion. My friend redid his Lambo seats with the best known person for that and it still doesn't look right and the dye is wearing off. Only other option is to replace the leather and the best guy I know can do the job for $1200-$1500.silver2k2 wrote:I am going to restore the seats with Leaterique products, they might be coated leather so I may not have too much success I will post pics when its done.
My car had some hard compound Yokohama tires when I bought it too. I'm still riding on Bridgestone Blizzaks for now.silver2k2 wrote:The tires I have are Goodyear Regatta 2's they are only T rated, and have a treadwear of 680, so I know they are hard as heck. They will work for now its hard for me to replace tires that are brand new (less than 3k miles)http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...tta+2
That's in better shape than mine. These boots are not the strong, since they were supposedly only designed to serve as a dust boot.silver2k2 wrote:Here I a picture of my cracked boot
I'm going to try to source out new seals with the help of Keith. Still don't have any seals yet, but feeling optimistic. Who fixed Ozzie's?silver2k2 wrote:How are you going to fix yours actuator (strut), new or usedI think Kieth was working on the ability to fix them as somone did it for Ozzie
My Active was working incredibly well when I installed Keith's accumulators anf flushed my Active Fluid A. I absolutely loved it. I had some G sensors fail, which is uncommon. I replaced my Front Vertical G Sensor, Fore and Aft G Sensor, Front Lateral G Sensor-1, Front Lateral G Sensor-2. Only 2 failed, but I replaced the others, because I felt like it.silver2k2 wrote:Other then that how long has your active been working since you did the 9 accums? What other problems should I look forward to
Lino- Do you have a pic of the MIL-spec nitrogen fittings that Keith installs in the accumulators to recharge them?lino wrote:My Active was working incredibly well when I installed Keith's accumulators and flushed my Active Fluid A.
No, I don't. When Keith sent me the recharged units, they were freshly painted and sealed. I never even saw the fittings. I installed them immediately, because I was so excited to receive them and get my car back to Active status.goody94q45 wrote:

Be very careful if you decide to re-dye. Try a test piece first. I have brushes and a compressor and a bunch of stuff I bought for the procedure....all the best stuff and end up with terrible results. I spent hundreds of hours on the project. The interior would have been better off left alone. Now it's destroyed. I really regret doing it. A friend from the Rolls Royce club recommended them, but he had to restore something that was irreplaceable and he didn't do a complete job, just a small portion.silver2k2 wrote:Maybe I will rethink the leatherique, the only seat that is bad is the drivers bottom, 511 for a brand new cover from Joe
I'd like to know how and where Ozzie did his. Keith and I are working together to source the seals.silver2k2 wrote:I dont know who did Ozzies, somone local to him I assume. It would be great if Keith could source the seals though. Maybe Ozzie will reply
Yes, I bought some from Joe and the others from another Infiniti dealer. All new.silver2k2 wrote:Did you get the G sensors new?
I don't think it does that much unless the car was totally neglected and abused and driven on horrible roads. Yours seem to be in reasonable shape and easily restorable.silver2k2 wrote:The one thing that has me worried is I have no idea how long this has been flat, I heard it does damage driving on it. I know its driving me nuts
Yes it's hard to drive with one corner dipped. My front right is in the highest setting and my left rear is in the lowest setting. I am uncomfortable in my seat as I squished against the driver's door and my steering wheel is off, my tires are wearing unevenly, and now the latest thing...the rear suspension goes up and down as it pleases. I can't wait to fix my actuators!silver2k2 wrote:Is it hard to drive with one corner dipped down? How long did it take your to R&R the accums?
Best of luck if you do. I'd personally shop for a used seat for the $100. You may have better luck than me using the dye. I sure hope so.silver2k2 wrote:I may still try it I am not going to do the whole interior just the drivers seat bottom. I am getting a custom color match. If it destroys it I am out a 100 bucks and learned a lesson. I can always swap it out later. I have swapped seats before, and i would honestly rather do almost any other work, dealing with hoge rings is real pain, all while trying not to break the seat heaters, and tear seat springs
I should have got a new one from Keith.....Keith sent me a seal, but unfortunately it got lost in the mail. He is sending me another one this time registered mail. Hopefully he has already sent it out. He told me that I'm on the top of his priority listsilver2k2 wrote:Why didnt you get used ones from keith or another source, since they rarely fail it seems like a good part to get used. They are super expensive new right?
I hope he sees what you saw!silver2k2 wrote:I saw how you ask Ozzie to come over here and reply about the seals.
I agree totally. I don't have much to offer you yet. Wait until I receive the seal and then we should be good to go. I have called well over 100 places so far with no luck. I believe the seal is made by KYB, since the accumulators had KYB stickers on them. What are the chances someone else made part of the suspension system? We'll know soon enough. I have called a contact that Keith gave me in Australia that had the seals made for him for a customer's car, by a German guy. They're working on thisi for me too. I spoke with someone in Russia who works for KYB and has been checking in Japan for me at the KYB plant. I have sent many emails to companies that specialize in seals in Japan and Asia waiting for responses, ++++silver2k2 wrote:Maybe I could help look for the seals too, I just need to know what we need. 3 people looking may be better then 2
That's fantastic! Once again, it shows what 9 weeks of looking will get you. Nice, nice find.silver2k2 wrote:In the last 5 years $15,868 of service was done to the car. The guy said they PO wanted everything done every time, even if they said it wasn't needed yet.
