I have always criticized Infinit for ho-hum, no info, no oomph adverts. Finally, today I was watching CNN and this advert came on. It's called "Different". It speaks to those who have bought based on the name plate or status alone. Something Infiniti must break through in order to seriously challenge rivals. It speaks to a legacy that is shared by Mercedes, Audi, and BMW. Infiniti is too new to have a heritage that can rival other cars, but they are working toward that. This advert shows that heritage has to start somewhere and it does it with a bit of tongue-in-cheek without going over the top. Still no tech or hp specifics, but hopefully more adverts are coming that build on this theme.

You know what I noticed? They NEVER show the M/Q70. And at the end of their ads when they show the EX, QX, G, and G coupe...that's all they show.

It's WEIRD. Noticed it for years.

i like it as well , i thought when the back of the cars were shown real quick it looked like the rear of a m37/q70
but Ilya concerns are well founded this model ranks among the slowest selling across all brands. I have owned Q45 or M exclusively sense 1990 and i always wondered why this cars never went anywhere in sales. They work , i like the style performance and handling

Because those models are the bread better of the brand, like you will always see more Altima commercials than Maxima commercials just because Altima is the model that more people purchase. On any given day here in SE WI I will see way more G sedans than M's

Note the other brands like Mercedes and BMW do the same. They will always run more ads for the model that people purchase the most.

My point is if you're going to show an ad that has your (basically) entire lineup...why are you leaving ONE car out. Infiniti only makes 5 (M/Q70, G/Q50, EX/QXwhatever, FX/QXwhatever, and QX). They show 4 of the 5 (or 5 of 6 if they show the G coupe). Why? lol. It's dumb, IMO.

It's okay though I guess, the less people that know what my car is the more it will surprise them. People confuse my car with a G all the time.

I kept up with a Mustang 5.0 GT in my grocery getter without much problem (he had the benefit of like 450lb less weight and 15hp more).

BTW, I STILL don't understand and somewhat hate the new names...it was easy to know what engine an Infiniti had in it from the back badge before and what line it was...should have never went away from M, G, EX, FX, QX.

You will have to ask marketing..LOL it's the same way with Nissan I have seen several commercials where they will show several models and leave out the Maxima

On the other hand...to date I have seen many Q50 ads or least the same one ran over and over in this market

I'm with Ilya. Granted the Q70 (and the M) are never going to be a major seller in this country, or anywhere else for that matter. But the LEAST they can do is to have in the shot when they show the line-up in the adverts.

This is one tv ad where they show the Q70 briefly. It's the one where the vehicles are on a ski slope
