Woo-hoo! I'm so happy!

Got the car, 1990 GT-R, on Monday.....drove it 1600+ miles to get home...took about 6 hours longer than expected (blowing a fuse and 2 stops by Highway Patrol helped with that.....luckily fuse fixed and no tickets)

Ok, so the GT-R is totally *not* a roadtrip car. My lower back is killing me.

But oh man, was it worth it!I love this car!

Got a few issues and quirks, but it's a street-legal GT-R and it's mine, so I can live with that.

Yes, it's one of the Motorex cars. Now....did they really do all the things they were supposed to have done? Dunno. But (legally-speaking), that's not my problem. They said they did, State of California certified the car as such and DOT said "Ok, it's good to go"......

A little bit of tuning plans, sure. Has a boost controller and AEM EMS (not plugged in, but was running with it before the previous owner pulled the motor).

He said he had it dyno'd at 369 with the stock FMIC, and now it's got a bigger one. Figure that I'll make sure everything is working properly, then learn how to tune with the AEM, and make that 369 target my goal. I figure that sould make me content for a while, at least.

My biggest plans are suspension upgrades. Whatever it's got on it is good, but no sway bar or strut-tower braces, so will start with those. Maybe some nice adjustable coil-overs later on.

Heh...no plates, both times. But they were cool and I didn't get any tickets.

Yea....I had been at a big concert the week before and had been too lazy to take it off. I'm a sad old has-been punk from the 80's who revisits his childhood now and then.

Came across it just randomly browsing eBay, of all places. Contacted the guy and then we did it just private-purchase from there.

It cost....heh.....a lot. $15K out of pocket, $42k total.

Ya I think I know what Skyline you purchased. Was it on ebay about idk a couple of weeks ago? I think he wanted $42000 BUY IT NOW, but the highest bid was only like in the mid 30s. I was looking into that one but, well I don't really have $42000 and couldn't get a lone for it. But hey congrats on the purchase, I don't regret buying mine at all.

Yea, that was the one.Got chatting with him on email, he called me...we made a deal.

I just had good timing both in seeing the eBay ad for it, getting the money arranged and then being the first one to call him going "I want it"
