JDM Exchange in Philadelphia PA. http://www.jdmexchange.com/They have JDM engines for our 1st Gens under $1000 and they also have JDM transmission's! They compression check the engine in Japan from hand picked cars with between 20,000 and 50,000 miles on them and then compression check them again here. 1-800-523-1985 is the number to call. You can go and pick up your engine and since they are on the east coast, the engine can be shipped for less as well as cost less. They actually have many of them in stock! Finally!!

Usually there is someone in every large [top 20] Metro area to feed the shops who replace engines due to owner neglect [lack of oil changes].

Whether they take the standard Nissan container package [assorted junkyard Nissan engines and trannies or special order a container to fit their local market ---------- depends.

You can fit 40 engines and assorted trannies in a container delivered to a US port for <$25,000...............the Nissan starter kit. SR20, KD24, 3 liter, 3.5, 4.1, 4.5...........the Toyota, and the Honda starter kits.

My guess is the as delivered to port Q45 motor costs ~$500 prorated in a containerfull assortment...........after all they are 16- 11 year old examples.

Aluminum is up to $1.24 per pound so these engines will soon be worth more for scrap than as replacements.

I've got an idea! Why doesn't NICO buy a container of these engines from Japan for us NICO crazies? Or buy 10 or 5 engines from the US importer at a negotiated discount(with chance for future business) for resell here at NICO...at a discount, but with profit? Someone can surely find space to store them. With all the NICO guys in Phoenix someone should be able to make room and they'd be close to Greg so he can protect our investment!! Just an idea..... or T-3.........

Or let the Importer advertise here on Mondays and Thursdays in exchange for a steeper discount to the NICO guys?? 'Mon mayan'. I know we can work something out. With all the cars we have, numbers speak Brotha!!

I'll move out to Phoenix to start up the NICO parts division and take this fledgeling company to new heights under the leadership of Greg.. man we can't loose... Body kits, hard to find parts.. we'd have the niche' we just need the money to "start up"... Greg could retire to be exclusive to NICO>.

I doubt there are 100 primo top quality finest condition USED 90-93 Q engines left, after all less than 4,000 were sold inside Japan. The good stuff gets picked over and over continuously...........why the prices are dropping?

If I were you I would only buy engines that I looked at personally! All those we've [and others] rejected over the years went someplace.

A business cannot survive unless [with limited volume] you double the cost of material and triple the cost of labor.

I can buy all the 4.5, I need/want they deliver them to the door the same day................3 places to chose from in ATL.The engine itself is the least expensive part of the equation.

3 on ebay as we type.............each can be in your driveway for $1000.

as engines become more scarce, im wondering if it would be worth picking up a handful of the deemed "bad engines".. I figure (if you have the place to put it and have the time) if you pick up 4-5-6 used motors you can swap over parts and probably make 2-3-4 good motors and sell the others for scrap aluminum...

I think that in the future we will have start rebuilding these motors instead of being able to go with the JDM takeouts! Fortunately these motors arent sought after so theyre still fairly available!

which is why we need a sponsor to pick us up some motors. If you are going to buy bulk then it will be even cheaper. When I get my "Save the G50 foundation" into full swing I'd be forced to get some motors. Lord just grow me a money tree!!

Low miles mainly.

In japan to have a car with 50k is like having one with 300k here.
