The LS series motors get great MPG. Hell....My 3800 lb LS1 GTO got 30MPG on the highway with me, my father, a filled back seat and floor, and a trunk packed to the point that I had to sit on the to close it. Not to mention, that was on regular fuel 87 octane.

I mean as much as i love the A/C the Vette is better in every category and comparision, less the backseat and maybe MPG in the city.. Hell i bet even the trunk space is comparable.

Many people just don't understand the value of the Vette. You get so much performance for such a relatively small price. They are outstanding sports cars, and the heritage should shine through all the middle-aged man and mid-life crisis nonsense.

So true......The reason it is a (middle-aged man and mid-life crisis ) Car is because the car is out of reach for younger guys to afford because of cost and expecailly insurance for young guys.

A coupld of years ago I was looking at a New 2004 ZO6. The insurance on it was Identical to my 91 Mr2 with 130 hp

So actually..It is a cheap car to own for us old men

corvettes to me is the only American car id consider buying. WHy? cheap and fast...wat more?

the reason why its cheap, its becasue its american...and dont get me wrong (cause im canadian), its just that there market is less demanding compared to imports

comparing the Acura/Honda NSX to the Corvettethe performance is about the same, looks are similar, but the price GAP IS HUGE

and u cant compare a Altima to a Corvette, they are in 2 diff categories...

the vette is nice, but the new gtr would be in it's class as the a/c is not. and, the gtr will blow it away. Japanese engineering is far superior to American when it comes to automobiles in my opinion.

not in the looks department, I'll take the coupe's sexy a$$ over the vette anyday!

and in snow it isn't superior, it's downright suicidal to drive the vette lol.

but for drag and racing , yeah the vette is in another category I guess.

I would take a Z06 over the AC any day. 505 horsepower and it puts alot of ferraris to shame at a 1/3 of the price. As for the mpg it's amazing, people have reported actually getting in everyday situations as much as 25/26 on highway, for a 7.0 liter v8 it is fantastic. I wasn't a fan of the Corvette, more of a viper guy myself when it comes to american muscle, but the new vette looks pretty good. As for the NSX being compared to the Corvette, I've been in a few NSX and for the outrageous price of the Nsx the engine is a joke, nothing for torque, and it just doesn't push you back in your seat like a corvette does. People say it's a "supercar"that you can use everyday. but a supercar is suppose to scare you, not put you to sleep.

Quote »"yeah the vette is in another category I guess."[/quote]There's no guesswork to it. It's not just superior in "drag racing", but every performance category you can compare the Vette to the AC within. It's simply silly to even mention the AC in the same breath. It's a great car, but it's FAR from the supercar category.

As for the NSX, IT'S not even in the same league as the Vette. 0-60 times for the NSX at 5.0 with the quarter mile falling in the 13 second range.

The Z06 having 3.5 times in the 0-60 with a 11.7 quarter mile time.

The ZR1 is going to be just as beastly and WILL give the GTR a run for it's money, no matter how "superior" Japanese engineering is.
