I've never seen a dyno sheet from an RB20 before, so I decided to dyno mine. I turned the boost up to 10lbs, Spearco FMIC and 3in turbo-back Exhaust (no cats) and an SAFC. My car was so rich, that it went off the charts! My first run was around 179hp and 173tq or something like that. So I leaned it out and made 199.5hp @ 6250 and 187.2tq @ 5100 in 3rd gear. My car was pretty hot (it got up to 96 today and Humid as hell to boot) but, I'm going back tomorrow to tune it at 14-15 pounds. I tuned the a/f to around 12-12.5:1. I was running 93 octane. I'll post the new hp and tq tomorrow.~Tony

Okay!?! That's why it was only hitting 7-7.5 before the boost controller.

as far as he's concerned, he is right. maybe he has an incorrectly installed boost gauge? maybe he actually IS getting the 7 psi he claims? who knows? i really dont care, but i dont like to see family members going at it.

Then why does the stock boost gauge only go to "+7" lbs?

Is the gauge actually in PSI or is it in Bar? if it's in Bar then .7 bar is about 10 psi.

IF THAT GAUGE WENT TO 10 YOU'D ACTUALLY BE PUSHING 14PSI ALREADY.

Doesn't a stock SR make more power than this?

EDIT: I have an AC autotechnic boost gauge. It seemed pretty accurate on my friend's WRX. It spikes to 11pounds in 4th and 5th. Otherwise, It's a solid 10. The turbo is newer than the motor, so i dunno what's up w/ the boost.

See i told you. It's not really BAR but close enuff. And you called me a noob. Next time think before you jump. I'm a easy going guy until someone jumps me for no reason.

0.7 bar = 10.152642 psi

14.28 is kg/cm squared14.5 is BAR

I believe you're the one that called me a "noob". Either way, I'm sorry if I offended you. It was all in good humor on my end. I was just dying to use that pic. :D That aside, I wonder if this gauge is acurate then?

And the factory boost gauge is in "x100mmHg"

so you think psi and x100mmhg is the same? and why would you you use he factory cluster?

He isnt using the stock cluster for the boost gauge, he has an aftermarket gauge...The stock boost gauge reference was talking about how much boost it made from the factory. Someone said the stock gauge only went to 7 psi...but it's actually .7 bar which is not far off of 10 psi.

have owned 2 Skylines with a total of 6 or 7 engines all of which were RB20's, all of which boosted 10 psi stock. No need to argue fella's, probably just a slight error on someones part.
