First off before anything, I would like to thank our customer, Trash, for giving us the opportunity to tune his vehicle when other would not. We are truly greatful for trusting us with his investment.

He himself installed a turbonetics kit on the Fairlady and wanted a safe tune up to 9psi, but since the EBC was giving us problems we had to just go off the WG and settle for 8psi. The TurboXS UTEC is a very solid piggyback, but still lacks complexity as other systems out there. I hear that the UTEC is getting some nice features added for next year. Well this is what we managed to achieve and at the end the smile on the face of the client is worth its weight in gold.

This is the before and after.

Thank you again, Basura

thank you sir. My brother hadn't dealt with a UTEC before but I did on a wrx so i knew the GUI. We didnt have that hard of a time tuning it but the lack of real time tuning was definitely needed.

sure does. 1-3rd are useless due to tires roasting all day long.

I just installed the Turbonetics kit in my 06 G35 with a utec. im looking for a basemap. what size injectors are you running and are you running stock internals with 9lbs? Im hearing all kindsa horror stories but id like to talk to someone that is actually running this setup.

AWESOME numbers!! Congrats on doing a UTEC system and congrats to Basura for being the first one to have it! What were the final torque numbers?--it looks close to 160lb-ft.

Have you guys ever worked with the F.A.S.T. XFI system? My dad runs one in his 87 GN and I love the tuning capability, but can't find anyone who's worked with one other than a guy in NJ.

just an exhaust and turbo. that was from his TurboXS baseline map. nothing was done to it.

Thanks. He was really happy with the results. I believe that the final TQ numbers were around 361 or so. we've fooled shortly with my friend's FAST on his SC'd mustang. we have around 3-4 GN's at the shop as well.

You are saying you just took the Base map off the website and used that with no change to numbers ? Any Wide band ? could you send a few screen captures of the maps in utec? Would be most helpfull

Cheers

that's right. he came with the Turboxs base maps from their website and we tested out the car to see what it did before we began tuning the car. Yes, we always use our wideband to tune unless the customer has one there available with logging features. If not we use the dyno's wideband. I dont have any of those maps available as they were tuned using his laptop. sorry bro.

hth.

I see now that you're also an AEM tuner--how do you like the FAST compared to the AEM?

they look similar but I like the AEM better because I'm just mostly familiar with it. I also like FAST for his Mustang since it works a lot smoother. The one thing I didnt like about his version is that he had to buy another piece for datalogging. Bollocks.

Yeah, as far as internal data-logging or automatic data-logging it is a seperate piece for the FAST system.

Does the AEM have internal data-logging? How easy is it to tune on the fly? A lot of my old Supra guys were using it, but even more were afraid of it because of how in-depth the tuning is, making it hard for your average user to fiddle with.

Yes, it does but most folks utilize their laptops to datalog. Very easy. Its definitely not an easy piece but there are a lot of things that one doesnt have to fool with. when the person starts fooling with those things, that's when the trouble starts unless they know what they are doing.

yes. same boost level. the baseline was with NO tuning, turbo kit, exhaust. last result was with tuning. its not hard to draw out power from a car. this past weekend I was able to draw out around 90whp to a turbo integra.

I forgot to post my first dyno run over here. I know its a G35 but i was following this thread because its the same setup. Few things to keep in mind is i didnt have my wideband in yet and the ECU gets confused after 4700 rpm with no Map sensor hooked up so i think we only pulled it to 4200 rpm but with just the base map from the Utec site the numbers were impressive. After a little more tuning plus the WB, Map and a clutch ill be happy.

Max Hp = 328 rwhpMax Tq= 388

not sure cause we always use the turboXS map sensor which plugs right in and it has the gradient values which the utec is looking for.
