so how do you know there are more "offline-version" RPG fans than there are "online-version" RPG fans? Maybe SquareEnix is catering to the majority by producing FF14.
Pump the brakes there a bit. You're way off course.
Ok, it's obvious that you're an MMORPG fan, hence the reason you lost the complete context of what I was saying and just went defensive. Try re-reading what I typed.
I never said there were more traditional RPG fans than there were for Massive Multiplayer. Squares direction is obvious regardless of count total regarding fans. I already referenced this in my post that you didn't read the whole way through (or didn't understand), but Square enjoyed the cashcow that FFXI was, now they're looking to replicate it.
Your comprehension needs some tuning, your analogy doesn't work at all. I was saying that FFXIV will be bad for traditional RPG fans because Squares primary focus and budgeting will be geared toward it while everything else takes a backseat. I figured you might have gotten that from the timeline I rattled off, or my last sentence of my second paragraph.
Quote »I honestly think FF14 will be a huge hit. also, how can you be so prejudice against a game that we know absolutely nothing about? for all we know, it could be the greatest game ever created.. (which of course as of now and forever, that title belongs to FFVII )
Again, if you read my post and digested it for a second before going for the reply button, you'd realize my problem isn't with FFXIV but the production bottleneck that happened when Square had FFXI in full gear.
Btw, FFVII isn't even close to being the best game of the FF series, let alone "the greatest game ever created".
