I'm thinking of using a 4.4 or 4.6 final drive for my 91, but which would give me quicker dragtimes with a simple bolt-on n/a ka? I don't care how it'll affect gas mileage, if I did, I just wouldn't race.

Also, where can I get them??? I checked mynismo.com and they only have 3.70 and 4.36.

The higher you go the quicker you will accelerate but the less top end you'll have. So a 4.6 would be the fastest. I think you would regret it for highway driving though.

Actually, using http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/N...ssion for gear ratios and the differential ratios on this http://home.netcom.com/~sgalab...ction page, it doesn't seem terribly bad.

On stock tires, the stock gear ratio (I just used 4.0 I think thats close?) puts you doing 70MPH @ 3kRPM in 5th. Seems better than what I do and I have a J30 (3.9something?) rear? Anyway, with a 4.3 diff you are going 65MPH @ 3kRPM in 5th. If they made it, a 4.6 diff would yield a speed of 61MPH @3kRPM in 5th.

You car will still be slow though.

Yes, 65/61mph at 3k rpm- I'm on a small island where the highest speed limit here is 45mph. I think that mid 14's on a bolt-on ka with 4.63 FD is okay! I know my car will still be slow compared to a turbo 240, so I can just put the stock 4.08 FD if I decide to go turbo.

So....... where can I get a 4.63 final drive??? Thanks!!
