Hey everyone,

I spent 45 minutes on this thread earlier today at work. My POS computer locked up and wouldn't let me post the thread. So now it's Wednesday night and I'm just now posting it. My apologies.

Anyway let's break it down like this:

MEET LOCATION: Fastimes Karting Center. 11:00am Saturday, June 21st. Go HERE for a map. It is self-explanatory and is better than any directions I could give you. Whatever direction you're coming from, it will be apparent as to where you should go. Indy is convenient in that I-465 does a full circle around the city. If you have any questions whatsoever though, feel free to call and I will help you. We'll meet in the parking lot. Just look for a sweet s13 hatchback, red in color and bone-stock. That will be us.

MOTEL6: This is directly across Keystone Avenue from Fastimes and Tom Wood Nissan. You can see the sign from I-465. You just turn left at 96th St. instead of right. If you have not reserved a room yet or need additional motel info, go HERE

MEET SCHEDULE/EVENTS: Again, the official start of the meet is 11:00am Saturday at Fastimes. We'll chill there and wait for all of the members attending to arrive, check out each others cars, go karting, harass the Nissan dealer, go to the Porsche dealer and talk them into driving a Cayenne, beat up on people test-driving Tiburons or whatever. This will be a convenient location as the motel is just across the street and no one will have to worry about getting lost.

At 7pm, we will move down the street to El Rodeo. I hope everyone likes Mexican food because this place is killer! The staff there is cool and they're down with large groups. And they sang to me on my birthday while I downed the tequila they gave me. Hehe. EL RODEO

After dinner, there will be many options for evening entertainment. I know there is a group of wild arses that will want to party. THIS is a list of the bars in the 'Ripple. When you go to the link, you can also view the restaurants and clubs there as well. Believe me, this is the place to be in Indy on a warm, summer night. Someone will have to keep tabs on redrocket. Any takers? :D

For those that would rather not deal with all of the amazingly hot and scantily-clad females that are under the influence, there is an arcade inside the bowling alley that is right next to Fastimes. They have Cosmic Bowling there on Saturday night. I was there last Saturday night and it was fun. Don't tell anyone that I have a locker there. ;) WOODLAND BOWL

For those that just want to relax at the Motel6, well, you can just go back to the motel. If you would like to have an adult beverage within walking/stumbling/crawling distance, you have two options. One, go to one of my wife's favorite local bars called Buckets and watch the mouthbreathers do karaoke or get a take-out beverage(s) at the liquor store a little further down from Buckets. Remember though that Sunday morning will be pretty early.

Sunday: We will leave from the Motel6 at 7:30 to go to the Walesboro autocross event. We will caravan down I-65 to exit 64. It will be to your advantage to go to the COLUMBUS REGION SCCA WEBSITE and read the rules/regs and check the Solo links. You will have to wear a helmet, but if you do not have one, they do have loaners.

The racing will go until about 3 or 4pm. There isn't any shade or place to get food or snacks, so we'll need to stock up before we roll down. Be sure to bring sunblock if you're sun-sensitive. SBG's need not apply. :D

Weather, Tips, and Contact Info: If you have any questions beforehand, you can email me at [email protected] or call me directly at (317) 877-0865. During the meet you can call Cold_Zero on his cell phone: (317) 679-7910.

The weather is supposed to be great! Partly cloudy and low 80's all weekend. Hopefully it stays that way. BIG TIP: There is a lot of construction going on right now around Indy, especially on I-465. The speed limit in the construction zones is 45mph. I highly recommend you obey the speed limit, as Johnny Law is everywhere, even when you don't see him.

Well, that's all I can think of right now. Any questions, let me know! See you Saturday!

Andy

I'll volunteer to watch the REDrocketNECK and make sure he doesn't get so drunk he gets a tattoo he'll regret. Of course, I might end up getting too drunk and needing someone to watch me. We'll see....

Oh by the way, whitey MIGHT limp her way up. My sister decided to try and use her Jeep to go off-roading....but on MY DAMN CAR!!!! Radiator is leaking, hood is bent all to SH!!!T.

HOWEVER, the beauty of having two cars of the same model is that I have a spare stock radiator and spare hood (although it's mediterranean blue :D ) We'll see what happens. I really, REALLY don't want to ride the whole way in the back of the redrocket.

Thanks guys. Whatever you want to do, we'll do. I aim to please! It's a good bowling alley. They just installed new synthetic lanes.

BTW, Friday night is "Midnight Madness" at IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park). There are grudge matches and only street legal machines are allowed in. Anyone want to go? I need the practice and want to see what the WRX will do.

$10 to race$7 to spectate

Trying to get this STi guy (hmm that rhymes) to go down to IRP. He has broken in his car. Let me gauge what the WRX guys want and we will go from there. Like I said, I would like to test my performance mods.

So I can run a modded WRX in a bone-stock '89 240? Oh yeah, GIMME SOME OF THAT!!! WOOHOO! Or did you mean the Grand Prix? That car is slow too.

Just remember that the first time we raced, you didn't catch me until 1000'. ;)

gibbo, I'll swing by the Motel6 at about 6pm. We'll take it from there. I should know what the deal is by then.

Maybe I need to post up our time slips from Race number 2 and 3? I admitted I boughed the launch on our first run (too excited and let off the clutch too early) and was at the mercy of my computer to sort out the AWD issues. I did catch you at 1,000 feet and if I remember passed you!

The thing I realized after that day at IRP is that I really dont know my car that well. Most of the WRX guys were in the low 14's. I was in the low 15's. I guess pratice makes perfect.

Yeah, that Grand Prix is a beast. And you most certainly did pass me. If you weren't able to pass me, there would have been something seriously wrong with your car. I'd like to see what you would do now with the pipes and a shifter.

Are we going tonight?

Fred, the 11am start time is 12pm your time. You don't have to be there for the opening. You could leave L'ville at 10am your time and be there for the start. That's not too early is it? What time is your pre-meet?
