We don't need another DIY on these, but I though I would post the cabin filter this year as many of us might put off changing it, thinking it's not really that important. I do a mix of driving on the turnpike, the interstate, and surface streets and I reckon that with treks to the north twice yearly I add maybe 8,000 miles per year. I live near the bottom of Florida, so the air/con runs year-round. Here is what my charcoal cabin filter looks like compared to a new one after 1 year / 8,000 miles:

As you can see, significant for beach sand (I live on A1A) and roadway dirt. The seat filters are usually grey-ish looking but no embedded dirt. The engine filters (HR engines require two filters) are usually dirty as well.
Also, as a reminder, when removing the white plastic door, remember it clips only from the passenger side. The left side is two tabs and you need to pull the door towards the passenger side while opening from the right side. I nearly broke the tabs this year because I forgot.

Air is pulled by the blower motor from above, through the filter so the air flow direction is DOWN. The air direction is DOWN and the air flow arrow should also be DOWN.
