before i bought my s13, someone decided to break in and try to steal the radio by poking a hole under the door lock to unlatch the lock

i want to fill that hole and paint it over so it looks like it was never there. I want to weld it, but have no welding experience, and I heard bondo just cracks and looks like crap after a while, so is there anything else i can do to fill that little hole?

also, how much would it cost to replace the lock cylinder so that it would match my key? They seemed to have also tried to jam a screwdriver in the lock and twisted it, now some of the discs in the lock cylinder don't line up very well unless you jiggle the key so that they'll line up and turn....would a locksmith be able to repair or make a new lock or would i have to go to the dealer?

Seriously you either replace or patch it Bondo or metal...it's up to you

unless bondo actually works without cracking and deforming, I'll use it, I've read that it does, so I want to also look for alternatives.

I assume using metal would mean that I'd have to weld it? or use some kind of sealant?

someone who does a lot of body work in the collision repair class at my school told me to use fiberglass for holes... i don't see why that wouldn't work, like if you layered it on the inside and out, then sanded it down real smooth-like. they sell fiberglass repair kits at autozone for cheap, and the applications include boats, and those things are smoother than cars, and it would include more than enough material for you. definitely cheaper than welding, and a hell of a lot more reliable than bondo
