hi local person. it's been done. imo, it makes the sides of the car look empty. but to each their own.

Totally agree. Saw it & didn't like it. I think tasteful contours and texturing to our cars. Filling in that body line make the car look bland to me. I think simply removing the black stripping is a more attractive change.

I've also thought about this. Why would it effect it, that is how a 300zx is. Maybe if it had some aero it would look grrrrate. lol

yea i see all your points but i just thought tht by removing tht part will look smoother and possibly make the car look newer especially on the back bumper, i already removed the black strip(huge pita) and always wondered about it

Bad idea. Unless you're going to do it with metal (lots of welding and grinding), it'll fail.

The body flexes in 3 dimensions. Body filler or fiberglass will crack along that line. That indentation is there to strengthen the broad expanse of sheet metal. Same with the urethane bumpers. What would you "fill" those with?

I've seen it done several times, and it's almost as ugly as shaved door handles.

Besides, it looks REALLY bad where it wraps around into the wheelwell.

The S13 & Z32 are two different animals. Filling the bodylines on the Z32 looks good since it's got so many lines in pointless places, like the stupid nose panel. But looks terrible on S13's...

Buy a newer car? Start off with a car whose body you like and go from there. I personally think the s13 looks great stock or with nearly any degree of modification. But thats me...

no i agrea with you, i think the s13 looks great stock, just could use a few touch ups here and there, i hate crazy aero kits, broadfields 240sx is a perfect example of a clean 240sx i just need to follow his steps but in a cheaper form and on a hatch, i havent seen many clean hatches without stupid kits on them or having wheels tht are tucked under the fender, and thus thts where these idea come from

Just thrown on some oem aero and either get your paint touched up or redone. It will look very nice. FWIW I'm planning on peeling the black tape off my coupe and just leaving it body color.

You don't even need to paint... Just remove that nasty adhesive black tape...

whattt! supermade is prob the only kit on like on the s13, its very smooth and clean, i'd go type x but its way over priced and i dnt really like the back or sides of the type x kit, it doesnt follow the body lines of the car very good

The sides & the rear are fine to me. I just don't like the front. I hate the bar in the front opening blocking airflow. I feel like I'd have the damage the kit as soon as I got it cutting that thing out. I also don't like how the front slopes back under the car, creating this triangular looking point when you see it front the side. Seems (I am by no means an expert here) like that kind of aerodynamics would promote more air flow under the car & create lift.

On S13 Silvia's, its passable since it looks like it could be OEM-ish, that just needs to be modified for airflow. But on S13's with Pop-ups? Eww.

Not bashing anybody with the kit. Its just not my flavor, personally. Makes S14 Zenki's even more Camry-like, IMO. Looks killer on S14 Kouki's though.

yea i agree with u on the s13, i dont like the front with pop ups too much, but i think its the perfect kit to clean ther lines up if someone did it to a sil80, mainly because it takes away mopst of the squarish look that the silvia has making the conversion more suited for the hatchback style. and on the s14 i would stay kouki all day, no body kits for me on those
