Hi, im just wondering what is the normal symptoms of bad gas filler neck. Because lately there has been gas smell in the car whenever i fill up at the gas station it seems like coming from the back. It goes away when my tanks around 3/4 full.
The smell is more apparent when im on uphill or downhill and sometimes during turns. I do not see any fuel leak to the floor. I hate pulling the tank out if it is because i just filled it up lol.
I have also read that it also could be the Fuel pump O-Ring, but my friend said it couldnt be it, but ill give it a check tomorrow.

Do you top off your tank when you fill up?

yes, yes i do. ok so it looks like it was the Fuel pump O ring, it was out of shape, looked like an oval lol. And there were tiny bit of gas around the fuel pump also.
But im also worried about the filler neck being broken. Is there any way to tell?

take it out and look? Not fun but also not that hard either. you must drop tank to get a good look.

when you fill the tank and park do u see any signs of any gas on the floor? i have a feeling its ur charcoal canister
