After spending a gruelsome 8hrs replacing my clutch and flywheel with the help of some friends, I finally got a chance to drive it around for a few miles.

The GOOD:

1) The engine started up a lot quicker.2) The engine is a lot more responsive and rev happy.3) Car feels a lot lighter.4) Acceleration through the gears seem a lot smoother.5) Everything fitted PERFECTLY. No dremelling, no hammering, or sanding. I guess fidanza fixed the hole-too-smal problems.

Now, the BAD:

1) Clutch pedal effor is a LOT softer than before I changed out everything. I don't know if it's due to the spec clutch, if I did something wrong, or if replacing the stock rubber hose/damper system with a stainless steel line made that big of a difference. I bled the system and adjusted the pedal. No change.

2) Clutch chatters a bit if I drive in 2nd gear at about 3krpm and let off gas. Hopefully it only occurs during break-in period.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this Fidanza + Spec Stage 3 clutch combo. Is it worth it? Yes, if your car is modified. Can it be daily driven? Yup. Was it a pain in the arse to install? Yup, because I never did a clutch swap before!

After 500 miles of break-in, I'll be all :D :D :D :D :D :ylsuper

I didn't think it was the slave cylinder because it worked normally before.. but I'll take a look at replacing that to see if it gets any better.

right. but the Spec 3 pressure plate is 2-3x harder than stock.. This can easily blowout an ageing slavecyl.

Yeah, but all this is anticipation for a turbo that's coming within a year... I was hoping my stock clutch would hold up until then but it was worn down past the rivots.

Overkill yes. But it only cost like 15 more dollars than the stage 2. Thats why I got mine. Instead of a stage 2. That and I planned/plan on building the ka. :batman

I was thinking about the Stage 3 clutch too. Where did you find yours?

I got mine from enjuku racing for $300 shipped... it was part of a deal with 2 flywheels and 2 clutch for $1200.

ypu should add in enjuku racings aluminum driveshaft, its llike 400 bux, but it seems really worth it, that with what you got and maybe throw in a Kaaz limited slip for like 900 bux...ooo i wish i had money.

I'm running the SPEC Stage 2 with the Fidanza and the clutch isn't as soft as others I have felt, but it's not soft.

My MR2 had such a hard stock clutch. I loved it. I love hard clutches. I can't wait to order that clutch and flywheel combo, anybody want to double up with me? :D
