Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to make custom sub enclosures using fiberglass. I have never used fiberglass before and I am new to the whole thumpin stereo thing. I also have som ideas for the interior pieces and their need for fibverglass. So if anyone has some information on how to fiberglass or can offer any resources/advice on the subject I would greatly appreciate it.thanks.-kyleP.S. Does anyone know why my signature pic thing is not working...?

Other than fiberglast.com the next best thing is a google search for things like "fiberglass enclosure building" or "fiberglass epoxy lay up" or "fiberglass construction techniques" just stuff like that should turn up a ton of both professional and do-it-yourself style webpages :)

I found this one link that goes to an install out of a Truckin magazine. The box that he is fabricating is very close to the type that I am looking to build.

http://home.earthlink.net/~evi...owto/ this is one of the more helpful ones. that box is kind-a the type I want to build. I want to build a box that goes around the back of the hatch with the subs faced towards the seats at an angle.I am only planning on putting in 2x12's, nothing too extravagant.they are loud though. I have 2 Audiobahn AW1200Q subs, each powered by an audiobahn A2200HCT AMP. they handle 700w RMS and the amp pushes 800x1 at 2 ohm so the way i figure it that is perfect.

My best advice is to watch out for the epoxy fumes, and try not to get fiberglass shards stuck in your arm...they sting and dont go away for a while :(. Oh, and make sure you get the fiberglass wetted out adequately, it should turn sort of clearish...however, dont get TOO much epoxy into it or it wont be as strong, the strength comes from the fiberglass, not from the epoxy.

don't breath the fiberglass powder, it's carsenogenic.

I'd use wood instead of fiberglass. There must be a reason why home theater speaker boxes are made of wood instead of metals, plastics, or composites.
