yes, if your going to install the stock glass you should have a auto glass shop do it. the surface will have to be roughed up first also.

if you install lexan you will have to bolt or rivet the lexan on along with sealing it.

cool. thats what i thought. also do these come with any type of warranty? have you installed them on a car yet to make sure it can withstand the rigors of daily driving? what about the rigors of track days? will the stock latch bolt up as well as the cross bars that open it?

it the cf trunk for the s14 looks that good i'll almost for sure buy one.

all of our hatches have seen daily use and track time. we have not had any complaints on them at all. if you are going to use this hatch for the track i sggest you purchase some lexan or at least some plexiglass. it would kind of defeat the purpose of cutting the weight of the hatch just to add it back on with the OEM glass.

is that like a cutout for the 3rd brake light?

is it possible to just leave that piece there for a 3rd light delete?

yes, there will still be an outline for the cutout though.

if you get the fiberglass hatch you will be able to sand it smooth and paint over it and it will cost less than the carbon hatch.

eh...the hatch i have right now has holes was the spoiler were and is not painted. so needless to say i'm not super intrested in saving weight. it will cost about 50 more to jsut get the cf, as opposed to taking it to a shop and having the spoiler holes filled and painted.

its about a 25lbs difference compared without glass. We didnt weight the glass. yet. We dont have the stock glass anymore. i think the glass would weigh about 22 to 25lbs. if anyone has weighed one please me know.

over-all, i'm guessing, if you get a carbon or fiberglass hatch with lexan or acylic you can save about 40lbs.in combination with the hood you can save close to 100 lbs.

we still have room to manipulate the weight. we can lay thinner layers of fiberglass with as little resin as possible, but the thinner and lighter it gets the more flimsy and weaker it gets....unless you vacuum bag the part with some core material. if we bagged it it would be 4 lbs or less.

?????black/black lace? do you mean weave? they are "black/black" 2x2 twill weave carbon. we have the hatch. the S13 trunk will be done in about 3 weeks.

OEM hatch about 23lbs

carbon hatch 8.5

fiberglass 8.5~8.9

not much of a difference. its not vaccum bagged. even then it will get significantly lighter but you will see very little difference between the two.

That camry is one of the meanest cars youll see on the road. Its still under constructions but everything on it is unique. Check out our site for his photo album http://gtfabrications.com/gtf_...um=10
