Okay... I've searched the whole site and scoured the internet and even asked the Moderator Q451990 for diagrams. This topic has been covered, but only with text. The part of the procedure in question is the removal of the ends of the struts from the ball and socket setup... If anyone, anywhere, can please post the pictures of this procedure please do so... I realize most of you guys have already removed the OEM hood struts, so I may be SOL.

Hoping someone will chime in for you - mine are still holding up, because I use a small piece of wood when working on it in the driveway etc, when it will be up for an extended period of time. But I'm sure my time will come, anyone know?

So you have the correct Strong Arm by Sachs struts?

I found it easiest to remove the cages on the hood. Just make sure the hood is well supported by two devices in case you knock one out.

No. It is mostly light distillates and paraffin. Read its MSDS. It has no cleaning agents. It is an internet myth we try to dispel around here, kind of like Lucas additives, etc. Search the previous posts.

What would You use to clean conventional oil sludge out of your engine? Just did an oil change (first for this motor) and from the look of the oil cap and interior of fill area it is bad. Also do these motors run hot or is it me? Temp gauge always in the middle.

Sorry My walk through was for 97-00 Y33, I can only assume that if you want the old ball out of the strut you will need to pry it out or cut it, you could also use the torch trick but not sure if the Coefficient of Thermal expansion will be enough, from the look of my old struts they were meant to stay in place then again...
