By that I mean with the coupe you are suppose to follow the manual recommendations and one of those is a sever restriction on using anything but premium (based on my 08 manual). With the sedan it seems to be more of a performance issue (also based on my 08 manual).RED_DET wrote:It puts the transmission in manumatic mode, which allows you to manually shift the gears UP or DOWN. does it hurt the car if u dont use the right gas?
Not sure if there are the same restrictions on the G35 coupe as there are on the G37 coupes. I would recommend that you read the manual if you have it and if not then get a copy (possibly online) and follow the recommendations in the manual.
In any case I typically use premium in my 08 G35 XS but I don't worry if I have to drop in a little bit of something else on occasion. There are a few here that never use premium in their sedans and claim no issues at all. I figure that most will not press their vehicle to the limit and therefore a lose of 10 hp or so will not really be all that noticable, especially when you have close to 300 to deal with.
