PHAT-KAT.com I think it is has a pretty nice selection except no turbo's? Anyway when your installing a turbo you obviously want the turbo, manifold, wastegate, and bov but what about fuel pump, injectors, and intercooler? If you think about it thats atleast 2 grand! I was told you can put one together yourself for less and install it. I've been considering it untill I saw the price. Is it really that expensive? What parts do I really need?

Fuel pump: Walbro makes a unit and if u shop around you can get one for around 100 shipped.

Injectors: http://www.KA24DE.com I dont rember the price but they are good MSD 50lb injectors. Or you could pick up some used sr20 side feed injectors for even cheaper it just depends on the kind of power you want to make. Do some more research to find out how much power you want to make and the budget you are working with.

Intercooler: You could buy a greddy kit, or perhaps the import auto performance kit and they all work but are costly. You could go rumage junkyards for a Starion FMIC or volvo or anything with a decent size intercooler. The piping can be done urself if u have the tools. If u dont u can pay someone to fabricate them. OR you could do what i had to do with some of my pipes and make a templet out of the correct diameter PVC pipe and take it to a muffler shop and they can mandrel bend u some IC pipes.

Hope this helps and good luck on the project.~Sam

Yeah, youre gonna need to find some used parts to keep the price down. BoostDesigns stage 2 sells for about $2500 and its a complete setup.

If you find some good deals, it can be done for just over $1000.

well put. when i bought my kit two years ago it was $3600 shipped for the nsport stage1. imagine how much i am kicking myself now since the BD stage1 is the same thing almsot and $1500 cheaper.

for a quality custom kit and all new parts you are going to be around the $2000-2500 mark no matter what. it is very easy to keep your eyes open and put together used parts for around $1000. which is definitly not bad for an extra 50-100whp. intake/headers/exhuast dont come close to that

ebay is the answer....i've said all this before and i'll say it again.if you buy a budget setup, from the infamous ssautochrome (according to many people it's crap (and i think they have had no experience with this kit at all, but hey this is the setup i have and it runs GREAT!!!!!!) - $800 shipped (includes turbo, bov, wastegate, oil lines, manifold, and hardware including gaskets and such.)fmu - ~$100 maybe less if you get a good dealfuel pump - $100intercooler - depends on what you want to spend, but unless you like detonation you want an intercooler, and one that is at least decent... you can find a decent one for $150 or $200 easilyinjectors - not necessary when you're on a budget and running < 8psi... fuel pump and fmu will suffice until you want to turn up the boost to double digits, but 8 psi is the highest safe number people talk about aroud here...intercooler piping and other misc hardware will all add up to another $250-$300 so you're looking at a grand total for a good reliable, non-detonating, turbo setup.........about let's say $1500..... of course this price goes up if you want to build an exhaust, and do other things that you don't HAVE to do but are nice additions, as the stock exhaust tends to be restrictive when you are flowing at least 50% more air and fuel (at ~7psi)... plus a nice new exhaust looks and sounds good... building your own can be done for ~$100, tip and flanges/gaskets included.

you can cut corners on just about everything though for a budget setup like this, but be sure you get a fmu and fuel pump at least so you dont blow things up.... you can piece together a cheaper kit for less i am sure by just getting crappier parts (like a used t25 turbo, used manifold, and other used or cheap parts).

but hey look that $800 kit from ssautochrome comes with ALL BRAND NEW parts, and as long as you are smart about things (like make a brace for your downpipe so when the engine rocks like it does because the mounts suck, then the manifold wont crack, and make sure other things are done properly) it will work just fine. soo many people bash the kit, but the people who have used it don't bash it because it's a good deal, especially when you're on a budget, or when you're not worried about bragging about your dyno numbers. anyway like i said if you do want to get cheaper than the ssautochrome kit you're gonna have to get really lucky and you're going to have to most likely buy used parts.

By the way i would bet my car runs every bit as quick, or quicker than any other 240sx out there with a similar brand name setup. don't misread what i am saying - i'm not trying to be like oh ho i'm soo much better than anyone cause i got my stuff cheap and i can keep up with people with similar brand name setups... no what i am saying is it's a quick little car, and i love driving it, and i'm sure if you did what i did you'd be very happy with the results.

I'm trading my SE alloys for a 20G turbo...got a Volvo FMIC for $17.51...and having my manifold made by a friend for a very good price. Got some SR20 370cc's + custom rail for $100. Trading some power folding mirrors for a turbo timer, only things I have left are a fuel pump, an SAFC or something of that sort, boost controller, and the necessary gauges...oh, and my friend has a BOV he is selling me for $150ish, and I still gotta find a wastegate...then i'll be boostin (unless I left something out)...
