Ok, ive installed my cd player and 4 speakers before but other than that, im sort of a newbie at this stuff. So not suprisingly I have a few questions

1. How do you get to the wires, i'll be needing to get to the ignition wire (for engine cut-off if alarm goes off), hazard lights (blink when alarm goes off), brake wire (so you can program your alarm), and power source.

2. Will it be hard to identify these wires? Will I open up my dash or whatever it may be and a bunch of wires fall out? hopefully not... :-/

3. How do I connect the alarm to the power source, ignition wire, lights, power door locks, and brake wire? I guess you can say, where would I be connecting them?

4. Where does the siren and main unit go?

Thanks everyone

1) Splice them in, ignition near steering wheel, hazards probably at the fuse box, brake wire at e-brake, power at any 12v+

2) Don't need to open up dash, just get a FSM and find which wires.

3) Splice them in with either splice connectors or soldering.

4) Siren goes in engine bay, find a nice place to mount it. Main unit is hidden under the dash, up to you to find a creative spot.

if you dont know how to do it, hooking up an alarm will take you forever. do yourself a favor and have it installed.

I have to have the power door locks installed too. Thats 165$ and its outragous. Im installing it myself. I just moved down here to Arizona and dont know anyone who can help so I got to do it myself. Couple more questions, Wheres the fuse box and how can I identify these wires? Oh, one more thing, where are the 12v power sources? Is it a wire?

the fuse box is in the drivers left kickpanel. there is a cover over it with a tab you can pull to gain access to the fuses.

the 12v power sources are wires. you need to take your underdash apart and use a voltmeter to test for the wires you are looking for. igition will be 12v with the key on, constant will always be 12v. starter wire will be 12v ONLY during cranking. since you are also installing door actuators, you need to take off the door panel on both doors. the actuator needs to be placed on the inside of the door. use the screws to secure the actuating rod to the door unlock rod. make sure the actuating rod is unobstructed. when mounting the siren in the engine bay, make sure you face it towards the ground. pointing it down like this will keep water out of the siren.

to do an alarm install, you will need:ratchet with sockets (for taking apart underdash)screwdriver (taking apart underdash)wire stripperssolder iron and solderelectrical tapevoltmeterdrill (securing siren in engine bay)zip ties (mounting alarm)and a whole lot of patience. i remember doing my first alarm at work, i got so fed up with it and i couldnt understand which wires i needed to use and which ones i didnt. its hard to learn how to install them, but once you start understanding how it works its a lot easier.

The hazard lights and head lights are at the fuse box right? Also i got this little box thing that came with the alarm and says coil on it with wires running out of it, what does that do? Will there be a free 12v wire hanging around or do I borrow one from something else? Just to make sure, ill be making that coil/T connection you suggested on everything including the lights and ignition key switch? couple more :) whats the CH1 2 3 and 4 for and where should i put the chassis ground wire? Thanks alot for your patience and time! I think ill get started after this.

Doh, few more things, whats the Positive door switch and Negative door switch for? The head on light warning is for the headlights right? Theres 2 yellow wires that connect to the ignition but there something that looks like a box on this diagram with multplie connections on it, its the same thing with the power door locks, any idea what they are?

you shouldnt need anything for the headlights or hazard lights. you should hook it up to the parking lights. you can get that one from the light switch, its 12v with the parking lights on. under your steering column, there should be a very thick wire going to the ignition harness that is just power. it has 12v with the key on or off. you will need to hook up the 12v memory/constant wire to this. the ignition wires go to another wire that should be the same size but only has 12v witht he key on. the pos/neg door switches are for your keyless entry. you have to find out whether the door locks are a negative or positive switch system. im not sure. then once you find it you can hook them up with the corresponding page in the manual. im not sure about the channel thing, none of the alarms i sell at my work have them. it may just be for transmitter channels. find a metal piece in the general area of where you are putting the alarm, put a ring terminal on the ground wire for the alarm, and secure it to the metal with a self tapping screw and a star washer. anything that has to do with lights should be hooked up to the parking lights. the box on your wiring diagram in the manual are relays. since there are wires for the ignition, id assume its the starter kill relay, and it should be in the middle of the starter wire. with door locks you usually have to use a relay to make the door locks work.
