I am building a Rb25det for my RHD Vert and I bought a RB25 longblock that was pulled out of a skyline because the owner wanted to upgrade to a RB26dett. I am doing a full "stock" rebuild on the motor and also buying parts for it. I figure is I was going to spend 2500 on a rb25det, why dont i buy this motor for 100 dollars from a friend and build it from scratch because i still have to buy harness and mounts and driveshaft and also dont know how good the motor is. anyways heres some info i need and please just help instead of saying "search"

1. What Block Do I Have? (pics below)
2. Does anyone make a premade harness for s13 (meaning i dont supply them with anything.)
3. I have a RB20det Transmission but when the car is warm it will not go into second gear when you drive it but you can turn the car off and it will go into gear or when the car is cold and you drive it it will go into gear, Why?
4.What ecu's can i use for my setup?
5. Whats the 75T on the engine block? (pics below)
6. What missing in the hole between the freeze plugs?

Looks like a series 1 Rb25 to me, dont use a Rb20 transmission they are pretty s***, the Rb25 trannys are bullet proof i would just try to find one. And some people claim you can use a series 2 ecu and some people claim they like to pop after a while.

It look like a S2 to me. Coil pack harness gives it away. If it was for a S1 it would have a connector for an ignitor. S1 and S2 ecu are interchangeable because I've done it. The hole on the block is where I believe the oil feed for the turbo is

If I got a picture of the ignitor coils would it help people?

Now that i look at it i believe you are right s2 and i would bet that is where the turbo line connects to the block.

series 2 look at the tps, and like other guy said the coil pack dont have the garbage for ignitor, as far as harness get one from ricky... i think getting a whole rb25 would be better, cause harness is gonna run u 400, rb25 trans 1000, ecu 1oo, and not including turbo and manifold and yadda, for a stock swap buy complete motor, for a non stock go with longblock

1. Series 2
2. Nope, start searching for an uncut harness. I hope you have savings :) ($100-200)
3. An RB20 transmission isn't going to get you very far if you are planning on upgrading the RB25. I hope you have savings :) ($500-800)
4. Z32 repinned, RB26 repinned with MAP sensor and intake air temp sensor additions, RB25 (duh). Aftermarket tuning options are up to you to decide which route you want to go.
5. I have no idea.
6. It looks like the coolant return from the turbo to the block. Or oil feed? I can never remember which hole is for which. (That's what she said.) :gapteeth:

wait what...?

I've got an R32 GTR ecu laying around that came in my rb25 when I got it. The car ran ok with it but had the wrong injectors so it didn't run right. How do I go about running MAP setup?

Just compare the pinouts of the RB25 and 26 and repin the ECU connector plug. You'll need to run new wiring for the IAT sensor and MAP sensor, but other than that it can't be that tough. Hopefully eh? or cjmart2k will chime in on this since they have more experience as to what you actually need to do. I've never done it so I don't know the specifics.

Either way, if you change injectors, you can't run the stock ECU. You'll at least need a flash tune. Just get an aftermarket system like AEM or PowerFC or Nistune so you can log and tune yourself.

There are two main punch-lines to this:

... and you end up with a circle!
or, more realistically
.. and you end up fscking yourself.

RB's are notorious for being a financial black-hole.

Wiring Spcialties is supposed to have some new already converted harnesses, there was a thread here about it a few weeks ago. You might check them out.

Darius: How much for the Exhaust manifold and what size turbo does it hold?
l0nestar: Thanks for the link, i found that one but wasnt sure it was already premade.

If Anyone can tell me if this is true....I saw that you can take a rb25 bellhouseing and directly bolt up to the Z32 trans. does anyone know if you can do the same with the rb20 trans?

For #2 try Wiring Specialties they sell premade harnesses for about 500 bucks. Though they have a promo going on now for like 400 or something.

**EDIT**
Yeah missed l0nestar's post about the Wiring Specialties harness.
